  1. Sorry I have been away for a while. With the cost of the guns, plus mags, plus almost mandatory upgrades, I can no longer afford a Saiga. I am with a very very sad face going to have to use more common american made semi-autos that unfortunately tube fed. Now when there is a Saiga that is produced here along with large stacks of reasonably priced hicaps, then I will without fail buy one asap. But for now, unless I come into a much better paying job that gives me disposable income, I have to hold off.
  2. Not a stock on any rifle or shotgun, no chance of accuracy. Jesus, not even a threat under 100 yards. Of course at 100 yards if crap hits the fan, they would be fair game. Then take their guns and ammo from the corpses. Officer....Why did you shoot them sir? me.....well golly officer, they were such a danger to my neighbors just rolling in and shooting wildly, I had to do it just for public safety. Officer.... Sir they were 100 yards away. me...... An AK round and shot gun round is dangerous at any range.
  3. Made the switch years ago as well. But I still have a bunch of AR mags and .223 ammo sitting here. Even though I will probably never go back to an AR platform.
  4. Actually that was a great help. I have read on other websites that reloading 20g was a lot harder than 12g. I figured to post here since it is noob friendly.
  5. I know this may have been answered before on here and other forums. But safety is always my first priority. 1. I am very much ready to choose a S20 for my wife as it has easier recoil. I have no real concerns about what to buy, since I have been taking in all that information on other areas of this site. 2. I would want to reload as many shells after being fired. The question I have is, is this idea feesable considering I want to reload buck shot into the hulls. The idea is to shoot a lot of skeet and trap, recover said hulls, then reload them into a defensive round. Is this possible
  6. So being a complete noob at Saiga shotguns, and not owning one yet I have a few questions. 1. How does one build the franken mags? 2. Can a MD20 drum be franken modified for an s20? I ask because I am in the air between a S12 for me, but also an S20 for me and so the wife can shoot as well. In a perfect world I would buy both and be done except for mods. But I cannot afford both so it is one or the other.
  7. I am just waiting now for the hysteria to die down before I buy either a Saiga or mags.
  8. Yes, if the proper equipment had been available to the police, the shootout may have well ended a lot earlier, perhaps with less wounded. You have to think it is a miracle more people were not hurt with all the lead flying everywhere. So yes, if the police or even a civilian, armed with a high power rifle was able hit them in either the head or other exposed area, the gunfight could have ended sooner. According some information from Wiki (and taken with a grain of salt), the University of Austin shootings by Charles Whitman, the police were assisted by civilians with high power rifles. Th
  9. But they did manage to keep heads down. The did manage to injure several people including police. They did manage to maim a few officers as well. They were able to hold off literally most of the LAPD. They carried shat loads of ammo, fully auto weapons, and they had home made body armor. Tactically the LAPD contained them for a time which is what should be done. Once the 2 guys went mobile that is where things escalated. Until they split up they had plenty of ammo and spare weapons. More so than the LAPD whose officers were dry. It is the short sighted politicians AND public's fault the po
  10. So in response from the last post. Why not begin an actual, formal, militia organization? I am not talking like the whack jobs idiots we all know and hear about. I mean hell, most of us are already in the fed database because we own guns, have ccw permits, etc. So what the hell stops us?
  11. Y'all forgive me for saying this in public forum but, with all this non-sense I am seriously just going with a semi auto Remington shotgun. Do not get me wrong, I still like the Saiga shotguns, and I need to consider one more especially now. I feel as though crap is about to hit big time. The issue I have is putting close to a grand into a weapon, and the having the asswipes with badges come knocking to take it away.
  12. OK so what is the verdict? S12's go bye bye? If so I will join the ranks as an S20 owner instead.
  13. Hi all, just joined but I have been lurking for a while. So, for my first post............................. I guess instead of buying a 12 I might want to buy a 20 instead then convert. I don't really want a 20, but my wife might be able to handle the 20 better than the 12. Personally I do not really hold the ATF in very high regard. More along the line of bungling idiots that somehow are able to do whatever they want.
