  1. Today the BG from Dinzag finally arrived and I installed it, with some frustrations, but got it done with hand tools. I think your main enemy is rushing to finish and gorilla-ing it, and keeping everything level. My workbench isn't level to start with, then I tried leveling the receiver in the vise, which basically got me there. I don't have a center-punch so of course my bit wandered towards the barrel a bit, but I reamed the BG with the drill to allow for the wander (it's a key hole shape now). I tapped the hole slowly, and even got a squirt of cutting fluid in the eye (i can still see thank
  2. Look in your booklet at the stamp with signature.
  3. Aw great. I guess we'll see. You pay up front, wait and wait, and what arrives will not work. Lovely.
  4. Same here in Dallas Vaifanatic......lot of crap floating around at ridiculous prices.
  5. Spoke to gunsmith. They are factory Bulgarian 5.45 and Yugo 7.62 kits.
  6. These Krinks are Norincos, pretty sure. I'm just speaking off the cuff about how solid they feel compared to a Saiga. Lemme get the data from him.....nice avatar, actually let's talk about your avatar's receivers, fuck the guns.... Nice work on yours Dr. T and excellent videography/narration.......I hate useless videos with poor videography. I really like that vise as well.
  7. I was at my gunsmith's shop yesterday and he has several Krink sidefolder kits he has built, and they make our Saigas fit and finsih look like shit. Now he probably stripped and blued his so the finish is super even and nice but the weight difference was significant. My Saiga has plastic stocks, granted, but subtract his barrel length plus the receiver of his Krink kit which seems to be made from heavier gauge steel, the overall perception is super solid despite a short length. I need to weigh them both next week. Are these kits nicer than what we are buying today from Russia?
  8. Which AKMs did you try it on? Gen 2 didn't fit?
  9. Bob- I have the exact same truck, same year, same suspension configuration plus a bigger FI engine and Metaltech cage, seats, etc. and mine is red underneath all the camo. Sad day to sell your 40.
  10. Gabe I ordered form TWS....sorry if I was unclear.
  11. What conditions, ammo, rest of your setup? How experienced a bench shooter are you? Need details man.....
  12. Mine is still enroute , and I can't comment as of yet...
  13. ........still waiting on Dinzag for the bullet guide.
  14. Being the impatient individual I am, I endeavored to replace the front sight block, herein "FSB" from now on, last night. Thusly a generous coating of PB Blaster was applied to said barrel and the FSB lovingly "tapped" on with a soft faced dead blow hammer. It slid on nicely with about 5/8" yet to seat, as a result of no serious smacking with the earlier referenced instrument. Thinking ahead, this ultimate 5/8 likely will necessitate removal in accommodation of a forthcoming FSC47 brake and hider. In addition, FSB was also aligned merely by eyeballing, and seems reasonably close, but ultimate
  15. Paint the stamped receiver lettering white............
  16. Jbanda1213 This is exactly my end goal for the Saiga 7.62 I just converted. I'm subscribing to this thread.....
  17. Having acquired a cheap stock Saiga FSB I'm gonna put it back on and thread the barrel like I should have for the FSC47..... I have a press, etc. Interestingly enough, the bore of this FSB is smooth. Probably will need to be drilled and pinned to the existing barrel dimples. Anyone done this lately? Supporting the receiver and lubing the barrel is critical.
  18. Gunbroker. Cheap. Conversion took all of 45 min max. Watch the Carolina Shooter's Supply vids. The longest part is waiting for your crap to arrive ala' USPS.
  19. I lucked into a stock 7.62 Saiga FSB.... CHEAP, and I'm reinstalling, then 14X1 LH tapping the barrel end.
  20. Mine is on there tight, and I didn't Loctite it....yet. I added a LaRue side sling mount and it's plenty solid. I'll add a flashlight clamp as well. One bummer was when I used PB Blaster to aid in removal of the FSB, it melted part of the forend and one of the rails. Made it look sandblasted. Strange.....eventually I'll replace it with an aluminum forend just to bump up the bling factor, but this is a functional handguard to be certain.
