  1. My daughter does modeling and she did a shoot this week with firearms. I let her borrow my Saiga.
  2. MIne did the same thing with the supplied mag until I took the mag apart and re-assembled it. Not sure what the problem was but now the shells sit more "horizontal" in the mag and the top one has enough clearance to not hit the BHO lever when the mag is inserted.
  3. MIne was doing that as well with the stock mag. At first I thought the BHO arm was too far forward on mine and I would have to send it in. Unrelated, I took the mag apart to look at the follower and mag body differences. When I put them back together, I noticed the problem went away. After putting the follower back in, the shells now sit more "horizontal" in the mag and provide the correct cleareance when inserting the mag. I guess it was possible that the spring was caught on itself and the follower was not at the correct angle or something. I suggest taking the mag apart and making sure its
  4. They're sold out. Wonder if they really got that price for them?
  5. Thanks karl, I have been looking everywhere for a new S12. Can't believe I overlooked CSS! Though $629 is a little more than I wanted to pay, I will gladly pay it to Greg. Now I can't wait for him to restock the 7.62s! Why not just order from K-Var and same a little? They sell out about once per week, but a few days later they put more up.
  6. I think a small tit could be added to the back of the follower. This tit would ride in a channel in the mag body. When the follower gets to the top of travel, this tit would push up on a movable tab, which in turn would operate the BHO lever. Hey Mike and Cameron, since this was my idea, I get to beta test your prototypes!
  7. My ProMag 20 seats fine with out any additional filing needed. However, like Raleigh mentioned, the last round must be pushed forward a little so that its base will not hit the BHO lever when pivoting the drum into the reciever. Once locked into place, the drum functions as it should.
  8. Does anyone know where to get the Rio armored slugs? Google "Rio Royal MG slug" and you will find retailers.
  9. This is the new follower. As you can see, the rear of the follower has a projection that fits into a notch in the mag body. This notch is only at the top of the mag and does not extend all the way down, only about 1/4 inch. Again this is the factory mag I got and I can tell they filed this square notch into an old style mag. This notch does not need to go far because the follower travels straight in the body of the mag but when it gets to the top, it hits the feed lips and pivots back into the notch. This puts it back far enough to hit the lever. So here I have, from the factory, an old style
  10. I do believe our existing mags will work with the BHO lever, all you need to do is file a little plastic. Look at the picture, on the right side of the mag, you can see where they filed the plastic so that it is straight down from the feed lip, not angled. This is how this mag came from the factory and you can tell they modified an old style mag with a file to work. This allow clearance for the BHO lever. I think this is all you need for your existing mags to seat.
  11. And those are not even LRBHO models. Yea that's gouging. I've bought several other guns from J&G because they usually are the cheapest.
  12. Saiga-12 store will begin shipping theirs next week.
  13. Can the bottom rail be mounted more forward? Maybe drill new holes if needed? I don't plan on a verticle grip so I would like not to have a rail where I'll be holding the handguard but would like one on bottom for a light.

    Another Attack

From the NRA: On Tuesday, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) sent a letter to President Barack Obama, urging him to have the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives review its interpretation of the federal law that provides for the importation of firearms "generally recognized as particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purposes." Adopting a narrower interpretation of the law would, Feinstein claimed, help reduce violence in Mexico and the United States . Also, the owner of my local gun shop, who sell Saigas, told me the ATF has stopped the import of any new s
