  1. Just a follow up: It was the springs, the legs were slipping under and preventing the hammer from locking back. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and advice.
  2. Just thought I would share an image of a recent Saiga 12 I built. Enjoy!
  3. The bayonet lug had to be ground off due to its presence being listed as a "non sporting". But I'm fairly certain the cleaning rod holder was left in pace. You can buy a replacement FSB with the lug, but you have to have a press to get the old one off, and its a PITA.
  4. So I just finished a conversion on a 5.45x39 and went to test it at the range. Rifle chambered great, fired well, but when i went to pul the trigger again the rifle wasnt cocked. This behavior is consisted every time. Then some folks noticed gas escaping from the rear of the gas tube as it was fired. I did have ALOT of trouble insert the gas tube and getting the lever back into place. Eventually resorting to a hammer to lower the lever. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there an conventional fix? It doesnt seem like the gas tube is too long. Should I grind some material from t
  5. It seems that the IZH-109s no longer come with a LRBHO....anyone know whats up with that?
  6. Thanks for the reply... It seems that I need upper and lower mounting brackets to hold the foregrip in place.... I cant find them anywhere...anyone know who carries them? CSS only has the lower and they are out of stock.
  7. Does anyone know the manufacturer of the K-Var stock set model AKBSL-K ? Just curious if they make their own or if its done by someone else...are they any good? will they melt? Thanks...
  8. I did a search and couldnt find anything relevant. I have the izh-109 with the factory LRBHO and the factory mag seems to push the rounds forward enough to clear the LRBHO lever. However on my drum the rounds are not being oushed forward enough and the lever is pushed up after every round is fired. Do I bend the LRBHO towards the rear to clear the round or do I modify the drum to somehow push the round forward enough? Thanks
  9. I have the Enidine on my S-12 with the Internal Receiver Plate and the Car Buffer Pig-Nose adapter. But instead of a CTR I'm running a VLTOR IMod Clubfoot. It certainly does help with recoil...but I never felt recoil was that bad to begin with.
  10. Yeah I figured I'll test it next time by replacing the factory gas parts one at a time. First the puck, then the plug/adjuster. I polished the bolt, however I did not profile the hammer (Tromix G2), and I did install a quad rail, Chaos Titan.
  11. The bolt did not go into battery all the way...maybe was about an inch from full battery.
  12. So check this out... go my S12 - took it to the range to test it out...shot buck fine on setting 1 and cycled low brass on setting 2 pretty well...only 1 or 2 FTEs and a few FTFs out of about 100 rounds. Then I spend the next month and a half to painstakingly converted it into the beautiful shotgun it is today...so naturally I took it to the range... Once again it performed flawlessly on high brass....low brass it wouldnt cycle to save its life. I am currently using a Gunfixers gas plug and a Kingston Armory tappet. The setting was on 3 for the low brass... The only thing
  13. You cant just make an American clone of the Saiga...you could make a totally new semi-auto shotgun, that provides a sporting purpose btw. But American made "Chi-com" copies violate IP laws against Izsmash, and they will sue.
  14. Lets not get into Democrats vs Republicans...cant we just say those who want to restrict the 2nd Amendment? Each political party has their faults...so lets just leave it at that... Oh and the reply from the Congressman posted above essentially read..."Oh I hear you, but I'm not going to do anything about it...maybe we'll talk about that later."
  15. Just a suggestion but you could also try an Enidine / Mesa Tactical Shock Stock.. they are ~$125 as well...then you could use whatever CAR stock you wanted.
