  1. Penal Law ARTICLE 265 FIREARMS AND OTHER DANGEROUS WEAPONS S 265.00 Definitions. ... 22. "Assault weapon" means --- (B.) a semiautomatic shotgun that has at least two of the following characteristics: (i) a folding or telescoping stock; (ii) a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon; (iii) a fixed magazine capacity in excess of five rounds; (iv) an ability to accept a detachable magazine
  2. [disclaimer]***i'm not a lawyer*** [/disclaimer] while the batf declared thumbholes to be pistol grips for import purposes, NYS does not consider them such, so actually the thumbhole stock is okay in NY, but not a seperate PG ...it is indeed about the detachable mag, if it's a tube mag, pretty much anything goes. and yes, we in NY have been told we should move numerous times... if we're here, there's probably one reason or another. it's not like it hasn't occurred to us. *tosses match on strawman*
  3. hahha, i used to have one of thosetoo... it made the most dreadful croaking noise. mine only shed its tail when frightened.... then it got loose, and i saw it occasionally around the house for a few months, then never again.
  4. +1 for the if only it were closer crowd. (and if only i wasnt broke, and gas price... etc.) oh and indy... arkansas isn't a 24 hr drive, hell, i drove to lawton, oklahoma in 23 hours once. (and gas was $0.93 when i got there)
  5. oh, shit, i thought labor day meant you were supposed to labor all day, so that's what i did. holidays... pfft.
  6. awww, bummer... it would have looked sooo good with that 90 degree gas block.
  7. hi, and welcome! mine has the same slot extending from the square hole, it's held up just fine. If you were really worried about it, you could make a reinforcing plate like this. from http://tantal.kalashnikov.guns.ru/akbstparts.html it's basically just a steel plate the same size as the top of your p-grip, and is welded to the reciever. They're commonly seen on polish underfolders and some other AK variants. but... like i said, you probably don't need it.
  8. your poor gun. a good swift kick will do in most wooden doors, y'know?
  9. no argument, just a discussion...no need to get grumpy. ... and i'm a bit full of rum myself. cheers! it'll be otay! edit: and thanks for not posting the pic of the downs syndrome kid winning the race!
  10. ak-47.net may call it a sear, but it's a disconnector, as a full auto has both a sear and a disconnector, and the disconnector is the part that translates to the semi's.... but i guess that's irrelevant, since both sear and disconnector are on the list of parts that they count for all firearms. (#13 and #14 on the list of 20) as for the lawsuit, i'm in!!!! i think the atf ought to reimburse me for all those "compliance parts" i've had to buy. farging bastages.
  11. the 13 part count is the saiga shotgun count, which the ATF didn't consider to have a front trunnion, the rifles clearly do, so 14 is the count for the rifle, with mag. that's 11 without the mag. 1. reciever 2. barrel 3. trunnion (front trunnion, the rear is just a tang... trunnion is a misnomer) 4. trigger 5. hammer 6. disconnector (not a sear, a disconnector) 7. piston 8. bolt 9. carrier 10. buttstock 11. handguard 12. mag body 13. mag follower 14. mag floorplate
  12. try cutting a couple coils out of the spring? (the magazine spring, that is) edit: i guess i shoud have read your post more carefully. yes, the 8 rounders are wayyyy oversprung. you can definitely afford to lose a few coils without a problem. in fact, i bet the spring from the 8 rounder would be enough for a 20 rounder. lol.
  13. forum member's cute daughter holding guns.... must...not... think...impure....thoughts.... auuuuggghhhh!
  14. first let me say i'm not an expert, just an information sponge that is fairly good at reasoning. while i havent used any standalone mounts, logic would indicate that the more things you have clamped together, the more chance for one of the clamps to wiggle, statistically speaking... that being said, i'd use a PKA with the mount built on to the scope, that way there's only one temporary junction, instead of two(the side rail mount and the weaver on top of it) besides, the PKA just looks so damn cool. http://www.eastwave.ca/products/scopes/pka.html now i have to go smear shit on
  15. the svd mount will work its way loose with the recoil. gotta have the ak mount with the stop on the rear.
  16. Cicero is probaly the closest to you, gandermountain.com for addy. thx G-Rem.... looks like cicero is it. hope there's still some cheap ammo when i go up to the harborfreight store in syr. (i'm cheap enough to insist on combining trips to save gas)
  17. those definitely do look better than the average '74 brake. i may have to get one if i ever stop being so broke.
  18. dumb question, but where's the gander around here?
