  1. and right after the Assembly's annual "Cun Control Day", too.
  2. +1 that does look cool, but i wouldnt change from the classic wood-clad look (unless i had a spare)
  3. try removing 2 coils from the spring... you won't miss 'em.
  4. shiney scope for a camo rifle.... but i like it how's she shoot?
  5. Okay, ArcFault's nice clean photo made me ashamed of my first pic, so I had to take another one in better light. It's still not great, but my old ass camera is at it's limits.
  6. yepper, a 2a it was $175 cash OTD, but that's because I buy a gun from that particular dealer every year, and it still took me a half hour of shooting the shit with him to get him down to $175. but hey, that's half the fun of a show. They are surprisingly accurate. I put 12rds thru it this afternoon, at 50 yds. ( my back yard 'picnic table range') The first 7 rds were in a 3" group, then i calmed down and remembered to breathe and put the last 5 rds in a nickle-sized group. what can i say, i get excited taking a new rifle out for the first time. You're right about it being heavy,
  7. got a new (to me) .308 at the funshow his weekend. 1964 Ishapore goodness.
  8. no way to prove it, except for rarer 'collectible' mags, like bakelite, aluminum waffles, or russian slabsides. I just avoid obviously post-ban ones, like promags and those bulgarian "bullet" mags (with the bullet design imprinted on the side) some more cautious people only use steel milsurps. The way i look at it, as do the troopers in my area, is no date = preban the only truly safe way, in these days of "guilty until proven innocent" is to limit yourself to these really, though, almost anything is fine, as long as you're not making a spectacle of yourself. 9. sorry naes, I must be man-struating. In all seriousness, It's perfectly legal. buy it, enjoy it, shoot the hell out of it. I love mine. It's even legal to convert it here in NY, as long as you stay away from folding stocks.
  10. If you think it's to much of a risk, don't get one. In fact, you ought to surrender all of your firearms, just to be on the safe side.
  11. good stuff. Long overdue if you ask me, which nobody did.
  12. OK, I may show my ass and age here but that hasn't been you're avatar, has it? no you're not going senile, it's a new one that i put up to demonstrate my lack of sensitivity. the previous one was to demonstrate my lack of culture.
  13. i'd suggest liability and comp. (comprehensive) in my area at least, comp is worth having for "deer and glass" and it only adds a few bucks a month to your policy. no pun inteded
  14. LA maybe... NY would have just shot them. My selfish fear is that our .gov will eventually curtail trade to make a "statement" then no more cheap russian ammo, and god forbid.... no more saigas. I hope ol' Vlad plays it cool.
  15. 4 layers of scrap 3/8 3-ply plywood. I figured I'd play with the design before making my own laminate with hardwood.
  16. My AMD needed a change, so I played around with a tablesaw and some scrap plywood. This is what i ended up with:
  17. I've been waiting for a month to find a decent deal on one of these.... I deserve it dammit!!!
  18. sure, leave it to the european to favor heavier restrictions .... perhaps we should pay a per-post usage tax, as well? something along VAT lines? (all in fun, of course)
  19. i dunno, at least an hour would be good. 2 hrs would be plenty for most occasions. any limit does, however, eliminate the possibility of a nice, clean, perpetual for sale post in the marketplace. ...it even eliminates the possibility of tagging items with "SPF" in the marketplace. I understand that you don't want people "changing history", but have there really been many problems with over-editing?
