  1. Mine shoots about 11 out of 12 1 1/8 oz-1155 fps loads. With 1 1/8 oz -1250 fps....it does not miss a beat. It likes the 1 oz 1290 fps as well That pretty well covers the cheap stuff that is available
  2. mine has some wobble...I also consider it normal
  3. There is not much leverage on the thumb safety and mine is not that easy to operate. It has gotten a bit easier to operate with use but you need some muscle in the thumb
  4. If you want to shoot the lower end of the range, try one of the CSS springs. I tried one yesterday, and again today, and I shot some old Winchester light target loads that are rated 2 3/4 drams with 1 1/8 oz loads. My favorite light load is the Remington game load which is 3 1/4 drams and 1 oz load at 1290 fps.
  5. Roll it across the auction floor and see how many people consider it to be a GTO No argument on the quality of the Saiga....some how, I suspect AK collectors will not consider it in the same light as an AK even tho it is probably a better weapon than most AKs that have been USAfied.
  6. If you carry one walking thru the brush, light is nice. Or, if you are like me, and want to swing one out the window in a hurry to get a shot at something that is not supposed to be there, whether it is a coyote, hog, bobcat, or feral dogs....then light and short is nice.....faster I can get it on target, the better. Of course, like most, I have more than one toy as well....
  7. No kidding...More likely more than 6 lbs Here is a comparison... The AR in 6.8 weighs 8.25 lbs with scope, foregrip, and a few rounds in the mag. It is about a half inch longer with the difference in the pull length. It weighs about 6.5 lbs without scope or mag and would be hard to get much lighter than that. Built as a truck gun that swings out the window easily when needed. The Saiga weighs 7.5 lbs with an empty mag. Both weighed this morning on my postage scale just as pictured. You can always tell the guys that are gun guys in these posts as opposed to the ones that
  8. Awesome point I forgot how deep the pin channels get drilled. Thank you for your help. I'm just going to throw my new FSB right over it Now, Hutch...you could have saved all the wondering by just using some JB Weld!
  9. I have not seen a lock nut that could be used to fix it so I think Loctite and a crush washer to help position it is about it.
  10. that wood looks like it has some potential...someone will want it, I suspect
  11. Looks like the unconverted ones have disappeared from the page and the converted version has jumped $20 unless I am missing something
  12. Will a magazine snap in properly? If so, will it hand cycle shells into the chamber smoothly?
  13. sounds like you must have received an "improved" spring. Hopefully, it will do better with a few more rounds thru it.
  14. Don't believe anyone is going to dispute that. Some may wonder just how much longer we have that right.
