To anyone that has had people claim their firearm is ILLEGAL... Instead of trying to convince them otherwise...why not make them a very small wager...say...your gun for theirs, and offer to call local leo to come to the range to clarify legality??? Lol

    Him:What is that?

    Me: Saiga 12

    Him: Can I shoot it?

    Me: Sure

Me: You might grab the S-12 by the forearm. Not lay the 12 in your support hand.

Him: I shoot my 20 gage all the time like this.

Me: OK, not a good idea!

Him: After the S12 hit him in the mouth! Not sure what he was mumbling, but his lip was bleeding and swollen.

Me: Asking his buddy. Would you like to shoot the S-12?

    His buddy: NO!

How did he manage to get hit in the mouth? Lol

Without holding the forearm and only holding the S-12 by the pistol grip the S12 come out of his support hand when shooting 00 buckshot and S-12 hit him in the mouth. I think she didn't like his lack of respect! LOL

Support hand is the non-dominant hand, in most cases. For example, a right handed shooter's left hand is the support hand. This would obviously change if a right handed shooter were shooting "leftie".

Captain Obvious...If you re-read the post it states he laid the S-12 in his support hand. Didn't hold the forearm...

    Thanks for being generous.

I'm in to win 1. - but only if the prize is for you to come cook something for me.

Hmm, GunFun is on to a great idea! What do you think Chile?

I'm making home made lasagna today, with Parmesan crusted zucchini, I'd be happy to have W8lifter and his family over for dinner.

geez....I lost the contest and missed out on some your great cooking!

Your very generous sharing part of your life with us, thank you for providing entertainment in the forum!

.45 Colt has marginally the same ballistics as the .45 ACP, but it can be up-loaded for more especially out of a longer barrel. That would definitely create more report than standard loads and more muzzle flash, too. It won't be loud like a rifle caliber out of a short barrel. This is caused by rate of powder burn and barrel length and a bunch of other factors. Shooting .45 Colt out of a long barrel is relatively quiet and has a soft recoil, too.

Not if it is full power loading. Most of the current offerings are downloaded a lot from historical ballistics.

Why would anyone want a revolver chambered in .30 carbine? I'm failing to see the appeal.

two reasons. 1 you are an old guy who uses a M1 a lot as a ranch gun and you want a companion pistol. Hint, it's old guys who buy blackhawks anyway. 2, it's a slim cartridge so like .327 federal, you could get one more shot in the same size of cylinder than you would for a ~9mm cartridge. light recoil for a pest control game getter type round.

3rd reason. 30 carbine ammo used to be plentiful cheap surplus, so older versions were cool for tightwads who wanted to shoot a lot. Now that doesn't apply, but the ' I always kinda wanted one of those, like my uncle Jake had' effect kicks in.

I love my AutoMag III. Not much recoil, very accurate, and makes an "earth-shattering KABOOM!" when fired.

AutoMag 44, makes me think of the good old days!

  6. Cruz is supposed to speak tonight at the RNC. I wonder if he will finally endorse Trump or pull some sort of stunt? I like Cruz, but I hope he doesn't do anything stupid. At this point,he needs to either get on board or get out of the way, then make a run in 2020.

2020 is out of his reach after the self-serving speech "Lyin' Ted" made tonight, what a jackass!

  7. Bill Clinton pardoned Deutsche who was Secretary of State at the time and facing charges.Wild Bill also pardoned his brother from drug charges along with a bunch of other criminals before he left the white house. The DOJ was negotiating a prison sentence with Deutsche to plead guilty for less time in jail, for the same actions commited by Hillary, not protecting information. Bill saved Hillary...FBI director is correct there is no basis for criminal charges...

Sorry he was the CIA director for Clinton, John Deutch. Roger Clintons' pardon was granted for distribution of cocaine...Take a look at all the drug dealers he pardoned last day in office...

That is our choice if we choose to not vote in this election!
