  1. I have owned a 10/22 for years and it has been as good as a gun could be. Don't know where you get the idea mags are expensive for them. I just saw them the other day for $17.50. No mods needed with that little Ruger it is perfect out of the box.
  2. Ok I am getting closer to putting together what I want and have a couple more questions. Does changing the front hand guards and gas tube cover to original AK affect the sights for the saiga? I don't want to get into extra cost redoing sites. Are Saigas stamped or milled receivers?
  3. I carry the Ruger LCP 380. On occasion I carry my S&W M&P compact. The LCP is perfect for comfort. I part from many on the issue of what to carry on the basis of what the actual need to use that weapon is. Some want power and accuracy with plenty of ammo. I think in most cases of actually having to use the weapon it will be a very quick event not allowing for a lot of time to aim and it won't require many rounds. I also think it will be close quarters where point and shoot will do. If you are very far away you open up the question that you may have had the ability to flee. I kn
  4. Well I have been looking at the suggested sites and the Russian Red is real nice. I have ran across the plum color by K Var. Al thought it is nice it is not wood which I was set on but I like it. My big problem is that I would like to convert without changing the front gas tube. That creates a problem with coordinating colors. Seems the only way I could get away with that is use my original front guard and get black stock and grip. Any suggestions because I don't want black? Is biting the bullet and converting the front the only way to get the color I want?
  5. I assume that replacing the gas tube doesn't affect the reliability of the rifle since many do it. I have no problems with the function of the gun and wouldn't want to cause reliability problems by changing the gas tube. Is this an issue?
  6. First is there anyone that sells new wood furniture? Been looking but haven't found any. I want to price some before converting my 7.62. Second, on my profile page there is a green bar with 12 in it. It says I have 12 likes. How does this work and how can I leave it for others. Sorry for asking the old guy is coming out in me.
  7. well the next ones I will make from thicker steel. These I will use for hand gun and my Ruger 10/22. I am sticking with spinning for safety reasons I figure that will keep ricochets less possible.
  8. So I have been planning my conversion for my 7.62 and had the question, is a new gas tube required to change the front grip? Looks like it is according to this thread. Is there some grips that will use the stock tube?
  9. I cut myself out some targets to use this spring. I just used 1/8 steel and welded on a stem with a washer on the other end to let it spin when I hit it. I figured with them spinning upon contact they would be ok. Yes or no?
