  1. I have the FireBird hammer... I think Tromix has one also...Same problem, IE:.. light hits. The "pull" is more but the gun works now.
  2. Did you open the plug 1 full turn and then set the adjustment #????...

    Magpul vs Tapco

Nothing really wrong with my Tapco AR style adjustible stock.... Put a "Limbsaver" butt pad on it and be happy.
  4. Check "PappaZorro" posts you can see an example... They are short, female x male thread to fit on the barrel and into the Molot brake.... I've patterned my gun and can stand a little more choke/consentration of shot for the heaver steel. Mike
  5. CSS...SO, is the new one "better" or should we just turn the "old" one around/ &/mill some off the nose? ????....( I shoot in competition.. always looking for any improvement availible).. How are the Molot style chokes coming along??? (really like the Molot style comp)...
  6. Check right here on the Saiga sight... Have purchased from them ... very good service.
  7. Time to do some reading on this site.... FULL of info....
  8. Bought one, very happy.Well made, Steel threaded insert/Aluminum body. Just waiting for the Short Russian style choke. My Saiga 12 bore is .720... I'd like a little more choke for the steel...CSS ... when can I get one? PLEASE include the internal choke diamentions.
  9. Remember these are are "War" guns meant to function in Russia in the winter... Since you have run a bunch of ammo through it I doubt this is your problem. You should be able to see some rub marks in the the bolt carrier group (plenty of "tips" for relieving tight spots ( look at the "L" channel were the bolt and the carrier interact. THE ABOVE MENTIONED, PIN COULD BE THE CULPRIT.... something is rubbing, you have run plenty of ammo through it.... IF ALL ELSE FAILS?... GAS PORTS BLOCKED???. THESE GUNS COULD DRIVE US TO DRINK... (I THINK I'LL BUY ANOTHER ONE)....AHH,Wiskey....
  10. I've been wondering when the threaded choke is going to be availible and what restriction is offered?.... Waiting, waiting,.....
  11. Did the Russians always wind their springs this way? /verse/ the solid wire we use?.... Cold winters?, Better reliability?. I can see that if one segment broke, maybe the second segment would alow the weapon to function?... Just curious...I've replaced the Saiga 12 hammer spring with the JTE low recoil spring and their is no visible difference in the depth of primer impact. (I grant the Saiga / most Russian stuff is built to go "bang" under adverse conditions...
  12. Before I grind the front lip off the AGP 10 rd mag to use in the JTE magwell..... Will it work???? Looks like the top most screw on the front of the AGP mag will hit the magwell....(I have 4 AGP's just sitting around not doing anything)....
  13. Thanks to all... Guess I'll leave it alone....Just seems over done. (If I'm not going to gain anything).
  14. Why so much tension? Way more than what's needed....My gun is used for competition only. I just can't help thinking this could be one of those gunsmith "little secrets", taking a little off that extractor coil spring ????.... I've lightly filed the sharp ridge off on the place were the extractor slams into the incline on it's way up the barrel. Everything else is free, not binding/polished with lot's of parts from CSS. I've only shot a couple of local matchs with this Saiga 12. Running 1200 FPS ammo, happy BUT that much spring pressure seems excessive... IF I had a spare spring I would play
  15. Mine is 2012 and the 4th port was completely hidden (front)...in addition 1 side port was 3/4 hidden and the other side port was blocked a little.... bet you have 4 ports...All are open now....
  16. FROG LUBE... I run a very light coat of Froglube on the puck and all the internal parts/bore... the crud just wipes off... My TAC 65, 22 suppresor is as new and it gets way nasty... the crud wipes off with a rag and nylon bristle brush at worst....I didn't believe how good this stuff is till I tried it....
  17. Hang on.... I JUST put the Molot style brake on my Saiga.... Got from CSS.... I emailed them and "soon" someone is working on the male x female choke for them...Was advised that CSS will contact/post when these are in stock... It's very well made.... just ran 100 thru it today.... Aluminum body w/ steel threaded insert...I also bought the Russian lock nut but did not need it.... a little blue locktite works wonders...My barrel checked out @ .720.... I'd like to tighten it up a tad. Mike
  18. C-mores, even got them on my 22's... Usually the 1911 store has the best price(Brazos).
  19. Just got my CSS version of the Motot brake... very well done AND glad to see that the threaded part is steel.... I want the Russian style choke behind it.... CSS said they are working on it... Looks like my bore is .720??? is this what you are reading????
  20. Pull the gas plug (marked 1 & 2)... See how many holes you can see... New gun should have 4... Probably, front/side ones are partially covered???..... If not, your good to go...... Take with a grain of salt the "heavy load" break in period..... All you are doing is wearing in some ill fitting parts.......They weren't meant to shoot wimpy stuff, BUT can if you read the forums here...
  21. TIP, Best prices on 12 guage ammo... go to www.slickguns.com, then to ammo, then 2 12ga...... Be patient and your get free shipping....I pay $.22/26 cents per round of #7 1/2. Some deals have several power ratings (FPS). I'm running 1150/1180/1200 fps loads... All are working 100% so far (Same for slugs BUT they cost a little more).
  22. I got mine from www.brownells.com, works fine ...NO more light hits....
