  1. I only posted because it said the source was the PD itself, so I assumed it reliable as opposed to some speculation or bystander "I seen it" type thing. Media at one time did have sped respect and thought that only correct information had a place being reported but in modern times it is all about ratings, so basically the news is now a bad version of reality tv where they just say random shit about real life and hope to get it right eventually.... Or not.
  2. "Johnson used a SKS rifle and a handgun in the attack, multiple law enforcement sources told NBC News"- this is from a NBC news report. Seems we still know very little for a fact. I'm with you though as I have detonated blocks of c4 and it makes a nice sized mess and I'm not believing a weapon in close proximity would survive unscathed like the one in the picture.
  3. Apparently he was using a SKS that was about 70 years old. Seems a substandard shooter from the Army was capable of sniper level shooting with a rifle that wasn't exactly made for that purpose. Hmmm....
  4. I just can't understand how we as a society are appalled by terrorists using bombs both abroad or domestically for the purpose of killing people, yet we sit here and applaud the use of it to kill a terrorist. Double standards seem to be becoming the normal standard. Again, I am an ex-cop and soldier and am all about the preservation of life, but having seen people killed by bombs and such I just can't see it as a viable way to handle any situation. When coupled with the inherent risk of using an explosive device for this purpose is insane where you must account for the risk versus reward.
  5. Funny you started this as I was thinking about it earlier today. I am former LEO and I am not sure how I feel about the use of explosives by LEO either and what the ramifications of it are. Imagine if he had a hostage (he was in a parking garage after all) when they decided to do this. There are far too many intangibles for something like this to become common. Im all for saving the lives of cops and civilians, but this is one of those scary things that changes the dynamic of policing on many levels and many not good ones. imagine one armed with a pistol or full auto rifle that can drive
  6. Probably right JAG, but just seeing her sweat and is fun. She is a diehard racist and would find a way to make licorice into a racial issue. When they were talking about redistributing she freaked when they were going to include areas that were not black within her voting districts... Like on the news screaming that everything was against her.
  7. "Dem Gatas be de bestestest eva".... That's hilarious. Sad that she has say in the laws of our country, but hilarious.
  8. Sharpton is untouchable. He must have dirt on everyone cause that MOFO is crooked as hell and criminal as fuck and no one bats an eye in his direction. If I owed the IRS $500 they would hunt me (or almost anyone else down) but Al gets a whitehouse dinner and some top quality DC hookers in the Oval Office.
  9. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/07/08/us-rep-corrine-brown-indicted-after-fraud-investigation.html It took waaaaaay too long but that snake is finally leaving the garden of free stuff.
  10. I keep seeing the term "sniper" being used. If he is using an AR or similar rifle we can all but hang up that pesky 2nd amendment. I keep seeing the term "sniper" being used. If he is using an AR or similar rifle we can all but hang up that pesky 2nd amendment.
  11. Dark days are ahead gentlemen. While Obama swore to fundamentally change the country and has got in a few good hits it will be Killary who put the death blow down on us if given the opportunity. She will do anything and everything to accomplish her goal of being powerful and has no problem trampling people and their rights to accomplish it, while simultaneously saying whatever the masses need to hear to make it right.
  12. I'm no conspiracy theorist, but as long as popular vote is ignored in lieu of the electorial college we have no say at the ballot box either. A handful of states decide the elections every time and they are primarily liberal. I mean, winning CA alone gives a huge head start to a candidate and it is a staunch liberal state, so all the conservative voted mean nothing once the college has its say. As long as you win more than half the states votes you get ALL the votes from that state with few exceptions and those few are minor in comparison.
  13. Real kicker to it all is that CNN was citing an unnamed source on Saturday stating no charges would be filed. Either Bill has a manic cock and his "meeting with Lynch was to show her his magic or someone already made up their mind before even speaking to Hillary.... Which is likely the case.
  14. Popular vote in the US is a joke. Many times one person won the popular vote only to lose the presidential election. If I'm not mistaken Mitt Romney won the popular vote but lost the second election to Obama.
  15. This seems to harm smiths and such even worse, as most gunsmiths work from a shop at home as opposed to a storefront that serves no real purpose other than to make Uncle Sam happy. Kinda like a firearm painter having a storefront, since it isn't like you can display your products long term.
  16. It means that all states within the legal jurisdiction of the court ruling can implement basically any ban they want for the time being. Not permanent, but can do temporary damage and possibly permanent damage.
  17. I find it saddening that the court regularly years cases about abortion that is an assumed right under the bill of rights but absolutely refuse to touch gun cases that are spelled out blatantly in it. The shear fact that the SCOTUS can even refuse to hear a case on constitutionality is insane when it directly impacts on of your most basic rights as spelled out in the bill of rights. That's what happens when the Supreme Court in the land is a political playing field. We are truly lost as a society when the supposedly "unbiased" court whose responsibility is to rule on constitutionality is compr
  18. This is not a 2nd amendment issue at all, like many are suggesting. Instead it is at the core of the 5th amendment of due process. When you can restrict not one but two "RIGHTS" (gun ownership and due process) by inclusion on a list it shows we have gone nowhere as a country in the past century where we persecuted "suspected communists" and blackballed people only based on suspicion.
  19. My small wife and young son both enjoy shooting the AR and only complain when ammo is gone or we run out of time. This guy is hoping to get folks who know nothing and are already scared of guns to believe even more that they are these awful war weapons. I love me some "unbiased media"
  20. The $1000 for a folder isn't awful. $700 for fixed is normal so it is just a toss up to what you want. My suggestion is to shoulder the folder and see if you like the feel, because you are stuck with it if you get it. If not then get the fixed and change it out.
  21. Folding has more, and moving parts, as well as is considered the "truest" version of the VEPR stateside. Also, since they are not currently (maybe never again) imported in that configuration it may add value to some folks. As far as options, the person who gets the folder isn't looking to replace it, and the person with the straight tube has little choice because of the funky Trunion they have, but some companies are working to remedy that.
  22. The 9th circuit is as liberal as a court can get. I am amazed the judges do not wear rainbow moomoos and enter the court to a Richard Simmons video already, so this was expected. With SCOTUS in turmoil right now the circuit courts rule the roost so to speak and we will be in a state of flux until a succeeded to Scalia is affirmed of the next president is elected. For now I pity those on the west coast and am glad I do not reside within that courts reach.
  23. Self actualization, which must begin with honesty and reality about ones weaknesses and mortality. You can never be true and honest to anyone else until you can with yourself.
