Cannon (Yes I own a full size one.) Getting into AK kit building, shooting and rock collecting
  1. I'm new here but I have done 4 AK's from kits some I'm familiar with the process. I do have some Saiga conversion parts from AK Builder and I'm thinking about this for my next project gun (or a PSL or a 74). I'd like to do a sidefolder since if it works well I might AOW it. I've found threads, generally a few years old that show side folders as not quite folding flat or really short to miss the drum. I have long arms so want a long folder. Has anybody managed one that folds flat with a drum or is about to? It would generally be for carrying and looking cool not shooting. Any suggestion
  2. I had one. It was totally reliable and quite accurate. It did kick but that's the trade-off for light. The slam firing feature was neat but for me it was very inaccurate. You can train to be accurate with a slam fire I've seen cowboy action types do that with their Win 97's and hit. If you ever see one of these at a good price, go for it. Steve
  3. I joined awhile ago but never got active but that is changing. I love the Saiga 12 and want to get one to gradually convert into something that looks like a zombie killer. To start with, I want the best deal on a basic one that can take high capacity mags & drums. Then I'd like to shorten the barrel to a just longer than NFA length with a brake. I know that the shortest barrels are supposed to be best for a brake but I'd like to avoid all that NFA legality. Then messing with stocks and other parts. I just don't want to start off with a mistake which is limited in mags i
