  1. Mine was a home build from a unissued parts kit. I used a factory receiver in the full size one, and a nodak spud receiver in the pistol version I built
  2. I have the factory bayo lug on mine. It has an original barrel. As far as pitting goes, most all the surplus is corrosive. That's also why I suggested a screw on flash hider version. It's easier to clean. $800 PSL rifles are the problem child's or bubba's. If you can find a good rifle for sale at that price, grab it.
  3. You want a PSL with the intact bayo lug. Be sure the mags match, or will cycle the rounds. This is a common problem. Be sure to get several mags. Check for barrel pitting. With corrosive ammo, cleaning them is important Be sure the side scope rail will mount an optic. some factory marked receivers side rails can be unfinished and wont mount a scope. Even though these were never full auto, be sure the 3rd hole is NOT present. 3rd hole is for a safety on a PSL/still not legal. Bottom cap on grip part of buttstock can be missing. This is an inexpensive part, but difficult to find. Look fo
  4. Krebs sights and safety come to mind. CSSpecs mags, nothing better. Decent charging handle mod, your choice. Cobra Customs bolt and carrier work. All those mods are for reliability and usability. anything else is icing on the cake, so to speak.

Mine did that also. I removed the LRBHO and it started feeding fine. do you have a BHO on yours, by chance?
  6. I had a Draco in hard chrome, that I had the furniture done in Russian red. It looked damn good. Gold with red, eh, not so much.
  7. This is not what I have heard. Source for this information? Edited: The Kalishnakov ban falls under executive order 13662 which includes a shit ton of other entites and individuals. Look it up yourself. In the mean time stop the fear mongering. Two panics in a year and a half is getting old. I did look it up, as you should also. I didn't see it in the E.O. It was an amendment to the Exec order dated in March2014, that's why I didn't see it. Its NOT listed as part of the original correctly on the .GOV site. Acting like an ass only make us both wrong, but only one of us was willing to
  8. I see loads of these threads, but nobody seems to post this tidbit. The "Saiga ban" is written onto a different E.O than the rest of the Sanctions. In my mind, this can only mean that this will be like the Chinese firearm ban. It will never be lifted. just my .02 though....
  9. I would love to take you up on that offer. PM me any details to work out. We are within driving distance of each other if you need to see the shotgun in question.
  10. First off, thanks everybody for the info. The S12 in question does NOT have a magwell. cssspecs, I just realized the confusion I created. My apologies several times over. I don't want to chop up your fine mags to seat a lever that is troublesome. Quite frankly, I want to dump all the poly mags and drums and pick up a fistful of the quality cssspec mags. I cant imagine going forward, that poly mags will have the lifespan that your will. Of all the mods done to my shotgun, I consider your mags the best upgrade I could have ever done to the S12. I figured you may have seen this problem in
  11. I have been out of the scene for awhile and while searching, I seem to be way, way behind in knowledge on my Saiga12. My S12 has a born on date of OCT 2009 and has the factory LRBHO installed in it. I recently ran into a what I consider unusual problem. The "tip" of the BHO lever that contacts the magazine nearly always catches on the brass of the shell, causing a misfeed. Is there a method to adjust the BHO lever or notch the mags to make it function correctly? This misfeed problem exists with all my mags to some degree or another, with the factory mag being the least problematic of the
  12. actually, with the scale, you can do more then tell if your screwed. Read up a bit on them, you will be happy. On a related note, see if you can contact someone at the nuke plant that does media relations. They may be willing to pass that meter along to a radtech to caliberate it as a courtsey for you. I know we used to do it for people back when I worked as a radtech
  13. glad to see you dont have a "personel agenda" As for the second time, im not clear on that, but I cant dispute that. My apoligies to you. and as for your service here, helping people, I cannot dispute that, heck, its appreciated. I think I may have been a bit vague as to what I was implying. I ddint want to "spoon feed" or influence anyone without them doing their own research, as I did. Nailbomb, I didn't mean anything I said as being directed towards you, again, I apoligize for that. Let me clarify, There are others that will take advantage of their power and positions to further t
  14. WOW, interesting thread. Yup, I realize its over 3 yrs old. What did I learn from this thread? That even after quite a bit of time, a mod will rip a user on the board for complaining about a mod. makc, if you really want to know why this board has less traffic than others of its type, look into the conflicts of interest that are created by the mods here doing biz with vendors and the arrogant attitude mods exhibit towards the users here. I actually bothered to read back 4+ years of threads and decided to base my purchasing on who/what company presented themselves as knowledgea
