  1. As expected my 308 puts a slight crease in the cases about half way down. Some dents are deaper than others. I Know a resizing die will make everything good again, but was wondering how safe is it. What really happens if you blow a case on a semi-auto? And would it be ok to resize creased/dented cases. When I reload my 45ACP pistol cases I have had cases split with no ill effects on the firearm or myself. I know the cases on a .308 have much higher pressures. I wasn't going to load heavy loads, but maybe improve the accuracy on my new 308 carbine.
  2. I have just purchased a Saiga .308 carbine with the rifle stock (yea a California guy here). I got it with a scoppe mount that would put the scope about 2" above the receiver. Using the Iron sights I will have to lift my head off the stock after I put a scope on it. Not an ideal situation. Does Saiga make a bolt on cheek riserfor the stock or will I have to get an aftermarket velco/soft type? What would you guys recommend? I dont want to spend a lot of money for an adjustable stock. After all it is a carbine.
  3. So I am picking up my new .308 next week. Never had a AK47 type rifle. I have an AR=15, but always wanted one in .308. When I saw the Saiga carbine with that 16 inch barrel.....well love at first sight. I bought the scope mount for it. Read somewhere it will hold zero even after removal and re-nstall. Is that true? Also, does the scope mount have to be removed to clean? I cant wait to shoot it. May hunt some deer with it one day. Hope the short barrel was not a mistake. I figure with a scope it should still be fairly accurate and probably only loose 50 to 100 FPS.
