  1. Actually it's legal, any angle, just can't have a vertical grip, Posted a pic in General forum of a painted AK pistol, "Rifle chambered pistols"
  2. Jess, it's become my grip of choice. Always used none at all or standard, may makes styles, fold to non fold. Thought the angle was ??. After trying, it is best for me. Different makers, yet I like the Mako. Every person's hands are different, it just fits mine best. Angle allows longer shooting without discomfort, due to past wrist/hand injuries.
  3. "mil-spec", maybe by quality driven supplier in civilian world, always remember my 1st gunny drilling to check/recheck everything and be ready for failure of any equipment, including weapon(s). Always built by lowest bidder or some corrupt, cutting quality contractor.
  4. Think the cat is shady. Guilt by association.
  5. IO Nano M214, from castle nut forward of brace is US Machine gun mech. Did a Krylon camo 3 color finish. Base coat baked, other 2 not, so can easily change to seasons or preference.Finish has a chameleon effect in different terrains, brown, tan or green has tendency to break outline well.
  6. NRA, not always the best, yet are the major players, who got gun rights back in Chicago, DC, and other locations that the people have become "Sheeple". Every "Anti-Freedom" politico and their allies attack the NRA, so must be doing something right. Most people gripe here, yet never speak out were it matters. Blessed to live in a pro gun region, yet still make calls, write letters, and even go to local offices of officials. Many people want to fly under the radar, I understand the mentality, yet wont be one of them.
  7. Little off, yet pertains to topic. Ammo, spare parts, gear, 3 Romy Ak's, 3 Chinese SKS's, 3 Ruger P90's and mags. Transferred some property/holdings to children. Guess I really knew it was there, stored, yet forgotten do to not needing. Checked 3 locations placed for safe keeping. Kids knew they were there, had shown 10+ years ago. All in long term vacuum sealed. Resealed and left. Kids or grandkids might need them some day. When buying certain items by the case in the 90's, usually took my share of profit in goods. Many have stored away. Knew guy who passed away from car accident, kids had m
  8. Might be a lot of short falls, yet if crap goes bad, 1st groups to Show up, donate time/money/goods, work the hardest, and last to leave are Christian/Jewish based, be a lot more misery without, non believers lives are easier, without any effort of their own. Lot like the anti-military sleeping safely due to those who volunteer to keep us all safer. Go to a secularist run 3rd world hell whole, and you'll quickly understand. Wonder why people of faith are 1st to be persecuted and held up as examples what will happen if you wont be indoctrinated. Happening now in our country.
  9. Well, bit of a storm last night, just got back from checking, squaring away veterans graves at town and 3 rural place's of rest. Even the 9 Confederate cavalry troopers killed in a raid. Tomorrow, take from city's memorial hall, and at sunrise we start to hoist our 73 fags of honor. 64 US, 9 Confederate. Then memorial services at 10:00. Then before sunset, because so many, can't do at sunset, and there is so few of us VFW members and helpers, we will lower, fold, encase, and salute all, as last is lowered, (last fallen, last lowered) then return. Been going on since 1919. All veterans get a gr
  10. Well, believe events are not going to fit "Official Story". Video has been released by business, showing things happened differently. Very few of the 170 arrested will be found guilty of anything, except wearing a leather jacket. Want a great media event with photo ops, before facts come out. Got one here.
  11. Like Darth got an under folder, really like it, yet butt is wider. Every since shoulder rebuilt by Navy Doc 30 years ago, have issue getting under folders seated. Slated to be handed down to a niece when she graduates in a couple weeks. One she grabs first when at range. Well built, was good out of the box.
  12. caught the gyrocopter bug a couple years ago. Spent time to go through training. Been up a few times in ultra's over the years, saving for a 2 seat sparrow hawk. Rent regularly on Sun. mornings for fuel and trade for time spent helping repair/restore owners 30's bi-plane. I'm an a$$ for detail, and guy I help (owner) is same way. When in town (180 miles from main home) for weekend, sometimes sleep at hangar, get so involved.
  13. I take the individual and their action while wearing. I lost my son in 08 in Iraq. Last summer had a nephew helping me clean out a storage unit. Box of my son's old bdu's. He asked if he could have a jacket, I asked why, he said he missed him, and it would make him feel like he was with him, so yes, I gave it to him. He is not pretending, just remembering. Found out he really irks some teachers and classmates when wears it to school. Boulder, Co. When some one comments, he proudly says, this is my cousins, he died fighting evil, and your right to be stupid. He's 15. Sure someday it will end up
  14. Well, commented about a recent IO purchase on another thread. Asked a question and made a observation to their customer service after hours, received a reply by 10 am. Plus the observation comment about a slight can't, got an offer to replace weapon on their dime for shipping and any transfer fees, wasn't even requested, so I'm pleased. Fired 1,000rds, little stiff, and a bit of trigger back slap 1st 60rds, then worked in and smooth. Couple older WASR's that have thousands of rounds, never any issues, yet have seen some that were crappy put together. Had an Arsenal with many issues, that event
  15. Transfer fee is usually only for self bought and shipped to dealer weapons. No reputable dealer charges a transfer fee for weapons they are selling. yes there will be sales taxes on a dealer weapon. If ordering, paying and ship, don't ever pay more than $25. My local (location were work residence) dealer charges $20, at permanent residence, dealer doesn't charge me anything, old partner. When in business, we charged $20 transfer. If I ordered for, using my funds, added $20 or 5% whichever was less.
  16. Did all parts individually, then semi assemble and reshoot base color. Lightening sucks in this photo, actually an earthen tan/brown
  17. GunFun, Yes, Most of the durable coatings require heat process to provide good bonding. Sights, especially with built in light source require a lower temp. A paint could and would work, yet chose to use the low temp bake process. Product has a different molecular structure. Be way to costly to do in large amounts. Something I've gotten into. Keeps my mind busy during down time.
  18. Thanks, JDeko, Cerakote, Working on low temp process to due Mepro sight. 1st Multicam, didn't due a clear coat, since has tendency to have a glare. Decided to due this since this has been my work weapon for quite a few years and finish was getting a bit beaten.
  19. About finished with coating, have Mepro sight that will match, when complete
  20. JDeko, Will get haters, yet the 145 and 845 have both functioned flawless. The 845 is close to the 24/7, just double stacked. Bought both at different time on impulse. Couple people locally have had issue in past with different models, yet repaired or replaced by company. Most pain in rear pistol ever owned was a Colt 1911 officer (basic GI), bought new 20 years ago, constant failure, Colt service sucked at the time. After 3 years back and forth, finally sent a replacement and sold it. All makers have good and bad, some just suck at service of product.
  21. Well, of the 3 AK pistols I have reworked. Century Micro, IO M214, and PAP m92. I like it, the PAP best, yet it is by far the heaviest built. Done these up for myself, yet use mainly for taking out vets at the VA. Many can't shoot regular long guns. It's all about the smiles. A couple other have done up ARs. It's just fun shooting. Plus pistols can be loaded in vehicle in all jurisdictions in my state.
  22. Done G2's, most common, yet after fixing a over polished (should say ground) internals, of picked up cheap, project weapon with a Red Star, I prefer Red Star. The adjustment made the rework a lot easier to fine tune.
  23. Not the full size, yet trying a Nano M214 pistol, first tear down and fit check/workmanship, no issue, except very slight cant, wont be an issue, I naturally cock/angle weapon, so fits my shooting style. Got it wholesale, customer service has been VERY quick, asked about taking rail off rear of receiver, (For those interested)It's solid 1 piece machined, attached by rear riveted at bottom on sides, Oh, IO would gladly return or exchange if cant was an issue, and pay shipping. I cut/grounded rail off and refinished. Doing a custom fit brace build for a wheelchair bound friend. With chair holder
