  1. On Gunbroker in "Enfield Rifle" search on page 2 is 1 for sell. Seller gave a little info about origin/reason for India build.
  2. Yes, know about Gibbs and Navy arms. Even had a couple customers have a local gunsmith work over a couple of regulars when the carbines ran out. We ordered them for a few customers. Even at wholesale price was too rich for me, being a rebuilt, yet pretty, surplus rifle. I don't care who, when or where the one I got was built, well built, and good shooter. Not a collector, use the weapons. Just know the pain and mess of uncrating. Due to word of mouth, and price, got request to get more, so couple months after 1st 2 crates, ordered couple more. Could tell these had been issue weapons put into
  3. India, joined Nato, in order to do so had to have a .308. This is when these were produced. Brits used the FAL, India already had the tooling via the Brits, so cranked out Enfields in 308. When modernized from bolt, stored these. Many were never issued. Went straight to storage. Except for cosmo and what it does to paint type finish, many were cherry after clean up
  4. well, look at it this way. Was a leader in Saiga/Ak builds/workovers. AR's except for quality part assembly and fine tune, many basic gunsmiths can put together an AR. Bad what happened, yet how many weapons were built by REALLY bad people/governments. Our favorite platform that this forum is based on. Example ISIS loves the AK, we all know what these scum do. Ever notice the price and rarity of anything Nazi SS, REALLY bad people, yet people sure grab hem up and collect. So, if this action 'Makes You Feel Better" or show solidarity with the victims, I understand. Many people we believed were
  5. Got these when still in partnership in a gun shop. If this was a cut up, was done 40+ years ago in India. Which is fine, Indian's did excellent work. crate this one came in held 10 in sequence serial number rifles covered and filled with cosmo, had Indian arsenal (inspection, and info, storage date of 1971) import approval stamped plus all the other old marking from being whare housed. Guess the Indian's did all the cut up . Crate of regular .308 Enfields had a 1974 inspection and storage date. Both models been sitting in back of gun vault since original clean up and test shooting. Decided to
  6. A $200 surplus rifle turned out well after refinish. Working on the Standard/full size Indian Enfield, also in .308, now. Been in gun safe a few years, just decided to refinish the old war horses. Son's "new" creek/brush hunting weapon. Stripper clip holder made by "Strike Hard Gear"
  7. Well, most law don't shoot much, know officers who practice a bit before yearly qualification and that's it. Yes bullets have improved, yet average skill has not. Been to many "Hogan's Alley" life situation shoots. Doesn't matter if long gun or pistol. FBI upgraded from 9mm to 10mm due to Florida shootout. Yes, criminals were drugged up, yet shot placement was key. 10mm was downgraded to 40 cal, same bullet, less ump/powder. My 1st Gov. Agency issue was a S&W 1076, purchased when left agency. Carry as large a caliber as you can accurately shoot. Agencies go to lowest common skill set. 22,
  8. Just notified a 500rd case of ,380 HP, that was ordered on 22 Dec. 12, shipped today from Sportsman's Guide. 1 of 2 ordered that day. 1st was in stock, 2nd backordered, then the Sandy crap hit. Still honored the original price. This stuff has almost tripled, if found at all.
  9. Black Cherry concentrated extract. (Old school and works for most to deter and lessen pain of flare ups.) Take daily. And type of diet, exercise to keep joints flexible. One of issues lived with for 8 years.
  10. Strike Hard Gear, Specializes in AK, yet very willing and can make whatever size/style you want. Very reasonable prices and quick turn around. Do a lot of business with, and many special orders due to 308, I. always use, yet many others in local agencies are upgrading from 223 weapons, like what I have had made, rigs and pouches. Even scabbards for attaching different equipment and sheaths.
  11. Walgreen very anti-gun at corporate level. Search "Jeremy Hoven fired by Walgreens". Especially read the police response (praise) to this man's action, that certainly saved lives. Did notice the local anti-gun signs did come down after this fall out, and later Hoven offered job back, believed he was hired elsewhere. In my state, the signs don't mean anything anymore, (No Violation), even public building if no armed security at every entrance. Can be asked to leave (if seen), yet as stated no legal violation.
  12. Minwax, like the Cherry 235. Gun builder, now in his 80's, hand builds all his own stocks, got me into using Minwax.
  13. Lord "Protects" fools, Right?? Ok, Some think I've lost my mind with health issues, yet either tuff'en up and overcome or fade away. Lost 50 lbs, hitting the gym and doing cardio. 1st time able in 6-7 years. Well, did a 2 mile Mud Run coarse, Ok, now training for a 5 miler in 4 months, and if body holds up, the full 10 mile next spring. Cardio day, 3 miles speed walk, then 1.5 miles with 8lb hand weights, next 1.5 miles 50lb vest. Add 3 lbs to vest every time I lose 3lbs.
  14. ordered 6, guess crates will stay unmolested. Have 36 mags loaded at all times. Shoot 300 or so rounds weekly, since ammo is in good supply again. UPS man gets tired though.
  15. Though about adding to my collection on an impulse buy, yet still have a couple crates of new mags unopened except to inspect from former Soviet countries. Just never had a problem with any ex-Soviet countries mags, except a few used need bit of cleaning and oil out some surface rust. These are new, machinery usually the same, fallowers give the bolt hold open feature. Heck, might have talked myself into buying 1/2 dozen.
  16. XDs 45. 1 of six pistols qualified for duty with. Just an excuse to shoot and have it paid for. Practice round before qualifications.
  17. Contact Todd at Strike Hard Gear. Look at his general AK line. He makes for all size, type mags. Very reasonable, top notch, and quick turn around. Have had him make several specialty items, besides getting a couple chest rigs. Plus, couple rigs and add on molle pouches for various weapons, including a 8 rd saiga. which is easily used for 10rd AGP's
  18. Yes, good people. Been doing business since they opened up. Remember the days all payment of orders by phone and little kids in back ground or needing their mothers attention as you paid for your order, before website was up and running.
  19. Well, have the P89 and P90, Both in the stainless type upper finish. Both have functioned without issues for couple thousand rounds. P45 was an issue weapon that I bought when Dept upgraded changed. Actually most deputies and sheriff bought theirs and still have'm. 10 years ago, after the Sigs. Dept now allows officers to carry any pistol gualified with. Use as a extra bug out bag gun. P89 took on a trade years ago, use for a shop under counter gun. Now daughter-n-law and niece really like to shoot. Get the Hogue wrap arounds. P90 came with, put on P89 Always shoot, and accurate for combat/def
  20. Saw these VA issues with my uncles (Korea)(Vietnam)) and my dad (Vietnam). From their injuries and failed/improper care. Yet I went to central America in 80's and went back in for Gulf I. Oldest signed up after 911 and lost him during Iraq surge. He could have come home, time was up, already done 2 tours, yet extended to finish the fight. Then administration pi$$ed it all away. Many of out town's/neighbor's sons have been and 1 is still over there. 5 of our schools 26 high school graduates are signed up to serve. Just, must be messed in the head, when you know you'll be treated like crap after
  21. Privatizing VA would have been great before Obamacare, now it'll get ugly. Money at VA hasn't been an issue for a decade. Administration and red tape has and always will be. Spent most of day at VA with my guys. Volunteer. BSing and going to a Little League baseball game. Most of staff is good people, yet can only do what is authorized. Staff been on eggshells last month since administration is covering it's A$$. Lotta of pretty stuff and building upgrades last few years, yet care is still at stand still for most. I'm lucky enuff that daughter is in med and her school is getting me treatment t
  22. Carried a S&W 640 as work coat firearm, fit well in custom flat sided holster put inside chest pocket of farmers or zip up hooded work coat. Son now carries it everyday. Usually with grip that has built in belt clip. Use a 610 4" in shoulder rig when boar hunting or calving. 1st pistol and vehicle pistol was purchased in 84, a 6" 686 S&W.
  23. In the process of having a 1911 built for my daily carry use. Arthritic and hand grip strength in hands due to health issues made me decide to do this. Few years ago would have done most work myself, yet conditions change. Mainly custom machining and controls adjusted/built/machined for ease of use. Commander top, officer lower.
  24. Would it be possible to get a full view photo of 3rd rifle offered. Thanks.
  25. BattleRifleG3 made the wood. Finish was by Cobra. Was built for my son, he gave the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq. Hasn't been fired since.
