Yes mine is not converted and I dont plan to convert it..I personally dont like the looks of the skeleton stock,I really just plan to hunt with the gun and I want to keep it as much like a hunting shotgun as possibly. If I cant find a better riser I may try to add to the velcro one I have now,maybe add a small layer of foam between it and the stock to raise it another half inch or so...

Does somebody make a decent 1.5"-2" cheek riser to fit the original buttstock? I put an eotech on a UTG sidemount rail and it sits about 1.5" too high for my taste..I picked up one of those padded risers that velcros around the buttstock,but its only .5" thick and its not doing the trick..I dont want to change my optics or stock,any advice or place to pick up a 2" riser?? Thanks!

I use the 512 on a few rifles as well and love it. Keep in mind it is for fast target acquisition and not long range accuracy but for the 12 don't need to worry about that anyway Thanks guys..Im gona set my eyes on a 512...I know its not magnified,so about how far is it accurate? I dont expect it to be dead nuts at 150 yards,but if a deer jumped out at 50-75 yards would the 512 do the job? I dont want to spend the money to add a magnifier..Thanks for the advice!

Hey guys im pretty set on putting an Eotech on my saiga 12, I really dont care if its a used one or brand new one aslong as its in nice condition. My question is since there are so many different models such as 552,516,etc,etc..What are the main difference in all of them and which would be the best choice for the S12? I will be using the gun mostly for in the woods type deer hunting and man drives..Most shots up to 50 yards max!

Thanks Pauly, you seem to be the expert on the subject so it makes me feel good to hear compliments from you..I have a question,is there anywhere you can polish to get that last inch of action to smooth up,im talking about that last second when the bolt spins and it kind of hangs up a little. Can you polish/debur the pocket of the carrier that the bolt rotates in or something like that? Im sure my S12 will function just fine like it is,but why not make it perfect if its possible..

Thanks guys,the gun is new I took it out and fired a few #7 birdshot followed by some 2 3/4" slugs and it cycled it all like a champ,that was with the stock gas plug,I installed the autoplug today..So as far as I can tell I will have no cycling issues,I have 3 unobstructed ports..I just polished to give it an extra smooth action.I used the usual dremmel tool with a small sanding drum to shape,then I hand sanded with 220,then 400,then 800..After all the sanding I took the parts over to my bench mounted buffer and hit it up with some stainless steel polish compound and it turned out great,I pol

Ok so I pulled my bolt and bolt carrier out and polished the important surfaces,also polished the rails and hammer. My question is, should I go further and polish the entire bolt carrier like I have seen alot of guys do or is what I have done plenty? Is polishing the entire carrier just for the bling bling factor or is it really that important? Thanks for the advice!

I just bought a 12ga slug hunter 980,with a rifled barrel of course. should I be shooting rifled slugs with a rifled barrel,or are rifled slugs just for smooth bore barrels??

Is the side mount on our saiga 12 the same as an AK? I was just wondering,because I thought about getting the UTG side mount rail and run an eotech..Any advice? These stock crap sights have to go

Im having trouble installing my auto-plug,it only starts about a half a turn,then it gets real tight..Also the knurled part of the plug is rubbing agianst the barrel when I try and tighten it..Anybody had this issue? Here are some pics to show what Im talking about..The plug came with no directions,no manual,no cleaning instructions,no nothing..But the stock plug will come out,go in no problem..Any advice?!?!

I was just wondering what is the best paint that can be found "local" to paint the metal part of a rifle,not the stock or grips?? I have an old SKS in decent shape but I am about to convert it to a tapco tactical stock that is mossy oak camo and I want to paint the barrel,receiver,etc a satin black..I have always had good luck with Duplicolor high heat ceramic paint in the past,but never applied to a rifle. I dont want to spend hundreds of dollars on ceracote or any high tech finish,I want to make it nice but on a budget..Any suggestions? Thanks!
