    Saiga 7.62

Her name is Natalia. A work in progress
  2. I'm no expert on these combloc optics, but from what research I was doing I think the side mount versions are much more common. They have a different range finder reticle and are just called the PO3.5x21P (without the 2 on the end). Most are made for the 5.45, and there are a few floating around for the 7.62. I believe they take the CR123A where as the weaver takes AA. They're occasionally on gunbroker as well as the usual http://kalinkaoptics.com/ and probably others. Hope that helps!
  3. Thanks for the reply. There is a compartment on the side of the optic for two standard AA batteries, and I have them installed, and the reticle illuminates just fine. That was easy enough to reason, I just can't figure out what this battery-like-thing is/does, or why it was included. I had my Russian immigrant friend at work read through the directions, but there was no mention of this little doohicky.
  4. I recently picked up the PO3.5x21P2. Optic and accessories This version takes AA batteries. Day reticle Illuminated reticle Atop my Saiga 7.62 via the Midwest Industries side rail mount. Anybody know what this thing is for? Its the size and shape of a AA battery. This has positive terminals at both ends.
  5. Lots of gorgeous toys here! Here's my humble work in progress. 7.62x39 Timbersmith "Communist" Red handguard (PG and Butt Stock soon to follow after conversion) Midwest Industries side mount Illuminated PO3.5x21P2
