  1. There is no difference in the dimensions of any milsurp AK mag at the engagement areas. The design was standardized across the Soviet Union. IOW, the Hungarian 20's don't require different fitting to your Saiga than a 30 rounder from East Germany or a 40 rounder from Poland.
  2. Do you know why you can't find any plum mags? Because they were a manufacturing mistake. The Soviets were going for black polymer mags, but they screwed the pooch and ended up with deep plum instead. Since they had to produce mags to feed their guns, they went ahead and rolled production of tens of thousands of magazines. Just get black ones, and ease your mind (and your wallet, as unscrupulous folk will gouge you for these "mistakes").
  3. You should mod your rifle to accept milsurp mags. Do this once, and enjoy the rifle. Do each mag and spend a lot of time on each one.
  4. Yes, these are the same as the Draco, just a different caliber. I imagine these aren't so commonly produced, due to the caliber difference.
  5. They sell domestically produced "pistols" made from G kits.
  6. The top authors on the New York Times Fiction best seller list are quite articulate, too.
  7. You guys don't recognize a photoshop when you see one? No Nailoth, I don't. The cat's posture looked weird to me. I'll leave the nerdy stuff for you to decipher. You nailed it. It is unnatural for a cat to be in that position. Not to mention that it is apparently some form of Terminator robot. You guys don't recognize a photoshop when you see one? Could you elaborate & edumacate us? It's unnatural in many ways. . . Pictures like this and the "spinning fohtay!" are believable to the unwashed masses today because as a society, we're (unfortunately) mov

  10. I think you misunderstood what you were told. You can't fill out the form with "variable" or "any available length" in the field. You have to list each sub-16" barrel length you plan on using (whether or not you own such a barrel at this time is irrelevant). Calibers are the same way - you can't put "any caliber" in the fields, but must list each one you plan on using. So, again, you fill out the forms with all standard barrel lengths (under 16") and any caliber you think you might be running out of a sub-16" barrel on your SBR and list them. When was the last time you sent a
  11. The revenuers have decreed that the part should change functions. Ergo, if you take a Romanian butt stock and cut pistol grips out of it, you've got yourself "US made" pistol grips. As mentioned above, you can't take a foreign trigger and reshape it and call it US made. However you can melt it down and make a US made disconnecter or hammer out of it (the part has changed function). Anything you make at your home from bar stock or wood from the lumber yard is going to be US made, don't you think?
  12. All 7.62x39 military magazines were produced to the same blueprints on pain of death or a lifetime in the gulag (depending on the country). However, due to the vagaries of manufacturing (of both rifles and mags), there are slight differences, but none should affect their usage in a factory Kalashnikov. When fitting your mag catch, it is desirable to fit each of your mags (if you have more than one) so that all fit. It may be that some fit a bit more loosely than others, but again, these differences should be very small. None of this applies to American made mags.
  13. . . . then you're not looking in the right places. Your AA-OK offering is 25% more expensive then another large vendor.
  14. I beg to differ. If we knew where the OP lived, and his state and local laws allowed, anyone in his state of residence could mail one right to his door. Shipping a gun - who, how, where, when and why
  15. YWHIC is referring to the disconnecter spring. I personally wonder why some people think it's such a PITA to re-use the brand new one that came with the rifle.
  16. Don't baby your Saiga. More "issues" have popped up due to folks "babying" [aka "slowly easing the bolt carrier into battery"] than Carter has peanuts. Run your gun like it was meant to run, and quit looking for problems that don't exist

  18. Consider cutting a slot in your charging handle to see through? It's not a new thought - the Uzi has one like this.

    Best FCG?

Never mind whether it's a good idea, but what modifications do you have to do to fit an RSA trigger into a .223 Saiga? A standard conversion will do.

    Need help

Anything is possible, but if it gets worse with each shot - and doesn't stay the same - that would seem to indicate other influences at work. The condition of "new FCG" I mentioned earlier gets better (to some small extent) with each shot, until the bolt carrier polishes it into shape.

This is normal with any new FCG, including the originals. Shooting it will alleviate the issue.
  22. I'm assuming the Saiga-manufactured it comes equipped that way from the seller I plan on buying it from. http://www.hyattguns...6.3-barrel.html Yes, Dinzag sells trigger groups for factory Saigas, but you will be severely tested in their installation (it's nowhere as easy as a standard conversion). The main reason the triggers suck in the Saiga will still be there, too. Better (IMHO) to just do a standard conversion.
  23. That makes complete sense then. I've read that the stock trigger with the dragunov skeletonized is pretty pitiful. If I were to only change that would that affect compliance? You need to be more specific about "the dragunov skeletonized" stock you plan on using. Will it be the Saiga-manufactured one or a US-made model?
