  1. Where did you hear this? No Saiga is imported with any US parts. If they are not imported with any US parts then how are gun stores able to sell them? Or is it just that they're considered sport rifles until the point you begin to modify them and that's when you have to meet the 10 piece US parts because they become assault rifles? I apologize for my ignorance. Thanks for the help! They are sold as "sporting rifles", and as such require no US parts. It's only when you add a feature that would disqualify the gun from importation that 922r kicks in.
  2. Unfortunately, it does not. The revenuers have decreed that if the pistol grip attaches directly to the receiver, it's a countable part. Where did you hear this? No Saiga is imported with any US parts. There is no specific law. The only law gives the power to the Secretary of the Treasury. The Secretary makes a list of "non-sporting" features (depending on administration, I suppose).
  3. Only if that's the only barrel length you're ever gonna use. It doesn't cost you anything to list all available lengths and allows you to change the uppers out as you wish.
  4. "revocable living trust" is a descriptive name. It's like "dog" or "cat". You don't name your dog "Spot Dog" or cat "Fuufuu Cat", do you? Name and address of trust - John Doe's Toybox Anytown, Any State Isn't there a sticky on this?
  5. So, along comes a chicken scientist to tell us more . . Behind the Chicken Goop: The Truth and Science of Chicken Nuggets In other news, they apparently have been turning dark meat into white meat for some time now. . UGA scientist takes dark out of chicken meat What's next? plastic in our foods and cardboard "enhanced" food? P.S. Yes, our foods do have food-grade plastics and cellulose (cardboard) in them, and have had for years. . .
  6. At first he was thinking... "Look at me guys... I'm cool. Look what I can do. I can startle a dumb animal" Shortly thereafter he was thinking... "Am I paralleled???" then; "I hope the girls can't tell that I pissed & shit myself simultaneously". Horse shoulda put a little more ooomph into it and kicked him clean out of the gene pool.
  7. Ace is the best aftermarket stock maker. Bar none.
  8. This charging handle doesn't do anything for laziness. Said laziness being the unwillingness to train with the platform. LRBHO? Oh yeah, lazy people love that, as it keeps them from having to practice reloads with a standard setup, or exert themselves seating a shotgun magazine. Hate to be in those guy's shoes when they need to pick up a standard rifle and can't run it because it doesn't have all the doodads they're used to. . . Train as you fight.
  9. This is why you'd put all available barrel lengths on your tax form, so you can play Barbie doll as you wish.
  10. No matter what else, this crazy POS sure does instigate discussion. Uhhh........Not sure? - Saiga-12.com Left side Charging Handle - Saiga-12.com Anyone try one of these? - Saiga-12.com . . . but no matter how much it's talked up, it's still a waste.
  11. AKs have 16" barrels. They've had 16" barrels since 1947. Guess that's why they're not accurate
  12. Kudos to you. Koljec is the only respondent so far who understands what "hi-res" means.
  13. You are aware that the 5.45x39 Saiga is an AK74 in politician's sheep's clothing, right? The same barrels and many other parts of the military assembly line are used. To be blunt: They're going to function (almost¹) identically and be as accurate, as they're virtually the same gun. [1] No fun switch
  14. Buying AKs based on cosmetics and marketing legerdemain isn't the way to go, IMHO. It's "function first" in my book. "Jedi mind tricks" and "oooh, shiny!" don't factor into it.
  15. There is no difference in the location of the safety holes.
  16. "Making it easier" also makes for a floppy safety. As in "flops on and off when physics demand it". P.S. Just think of it like this: A job requires the use of a 3 foot wrench, and you want to use a 6 inch wrench. How do you think that's going to work for ya? P.P.S You should look for a galil left-side safety. They're designed for this, and only require normal human strength to operate.
  17. Is the fit of the lever too tight ? Any way around that, or a way to make it more easier ? No, the lever'll fit fine. It's just that the safety is designed to be operated by a ~3" lever, not a little ½" one.
  18. If you mean as in straight from another country, yes. There have been pistols made in the USA from foreign AKM parts. Yes, they do. I've heard more 'hit or miss' stories about domestic AK pistols than I've heard about Dracos. The Draco is nothing more than a semi-auto pistol version of the Aims-R carbine. The Romanians have been manufacturing them for years and have worked out all the kinks and the guns work right out of the box. You can't say that about any particular American mixmaster AK pistol.
  19. No, after the chicken's primary processing, they throw any FDA approved edible (but maybe not something you'd buy at the market) meat in the hopper, including the bones. Big grinders crunch'em up and any speck of edible meat is taken from the bones. If you read up on this process, they try to keep most of the bone fragment out of the finished product . . . . . . sometimes a little gets through Ain't nobody can tell me they ain't had a "crunchy speck o'somethin'" in their vienna sausage or potted meat or other meat products that use mechanically separated chicken . . .
  20. You need to step back and look at the big picture. 1) Nobody ever comes to a forum and crows about their guns "working", they only complain when they don't work. Don't you think if they were that "hit or miss", Century wouldn't sell them? 2) The same guy with different user names will go to several forums and post the same complaint. 3) Haters will continue to link to these threads, no matter how old they get as "proof" that the object of their hate is still worthy. Looking at these odds, the Dracos are a kickass purchase. 1) They're manufactured of all milspec parts. 2) Cen
  21. Yes, it will fit (you'll need both parts). Instead of installing the whole contraption, you'd just install the left and right side levers and pin them together (so they both move from either side). The force necessary to operate it will not be to your liking, though.
  22. Not really contradicted at all. A lot of our food is processed with ammonia. They wash the ammonia out before processing it further, so it's not actually in the food that sits on the shelves.
