fake can this gas tube required a ton of filing to fit right! anyone else have this issue?

yup! 2009 with dimples and threads and no step chamber, i could actually see the threads lurking under the shroud so i sliced it up like a mexican prostitute! Dr thunder88, i wasn't a huge fan of fake cans either but the new ones at Apex are pretty neat looking and i wanted to do something a bit different with this one. I already got my lower hg retainer in the mail, 2 days!! Now to wait impatiently for other goodies.....

time to finish my old saiga and convert the front end and pretty it up. Got a black laminate stock set from timber smith and the saiga-ak lower retainer. also ordered the 5 inch fake suppressor because i found threads under the shroud so this is gonna look pretty bad ass! aaaaaaand threads!

Finally found a sar-1 after hoping to score one since they dried up years ago. seems unfired as all the internals show zero wear,no fouling on the gas system anywhere and an abundance of oily cosmo like stuff all over the internals and gas piston. very happy to pay 460 for it,and scored some golden tiger too.. good gun show day! really digging the grain on this wood too

i agree with imarangemaster, the hand gaurd retainer will walk forward under recoil without a groove or something to lock it in place. If not? bonus!!

cleaning?? an ak?? unless you are shooting corrosive maybe... ive put thousands of rounds through my wasr 10 and i just wipe down the outside with some gun oil, but i think i dont clean it internally just because i have to wonder how long it can go unscrubbed, to this day not one single misfire or failure of any sort. ever. uhhh and im lazy too lol

put it on toast lol...... yeah drill and tap for sure! did my first one at work in about 10 minutes and didnt even break the damn infernal tap...... that time......

best part is the 332 comes with a ak74 style front sight block with 24mm threads and everything!! just has a small cover over the threads which is very easily dremeled off, well work the extra few bucks imo. the fit and finish of the upper and lower hand guards is excellent, zero play

buffed the bolt up just for fun, did all the fcg surfaces also and it made a huge improvement in an already lovely trigger

517 delivered from centerfire, 20 bucks transfer fee. Checking my old email from carolina shooters my order for this rifle came it at 128 delivered and thats with no 24mm brake yet. say around 700ish if you dont start putting all kinds of wacky shit on it. I like my Ak style rifles to be very basic.
