  1. Just a heads up. I'm running an AR500 defender plate group buy in the AK Files market place. http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=200172
  2. Need a Romney RPK gas block. My RPK gas block is toast; one of the Apex parts kits from earlier this year.
  3. I did not take any "off"..I had to make the elevated support ring by carefully scooping the chamber end with out touching the overall length of the existing chamber. This was done before the headspacing pin was drilled, which is just a matter of how deep the barrel is in the trunnion. When I tried to headspace in the original configuration I could not get it to headspace.I realized the PSL bolt pocket is very deep and swallows the rim of the cartridge.Mimic what the original PSL barrel ring looks like....kman Thanks . I missunderstood what you were machining.
  4. Kmanator, How much did you have to machine off of the the elevated support ring on the chamber face?
  5. Update: just purchased a Polytech sidefolder stock, so this build is going to be done over with a true Chinese side folder. Plus, if AK builder ever comes out with his 1.3mm chinese flats, that willl be the receiver it's going on. The DPH stock will soon end up on the sellers block.
  6. Good to see that Century made good and that their VZ58's aren't a repeat f their CETME products. One word of caution about Century; their warranty begins the moment they sell it. A lot of people are surprised when they contact Century about a rifle they just purchased and find out the warranty is out of date. JMO, I'd check the the warranty information on a Century firearm (w/ Century) before buying one.
  7. If you've got one PM me and include pictures. Please, no clones; I know the difference.
  8. That's a DPH stock (no longer available) I scored it at a local gun show a while back. It's the type you grind the rear trunnion tang down and install like a regular full butt stock. I'm a not a big fan of how secure it is. I'm going to drill a 5/32" hole in the aluminum block that fills the trunnion void along with the receiver and secure it with a rivet. The chinese AK Bayonet is the bolt on type. The supply of these dried up back in 2006. The rest of the furniture is Chinese Bakelite; including a lower hand guard that is cut for a bayonet. The plan is to rust blue the rifle
  9. I'm new to the Saiga-12 forum, but have been hanging around for a while gathering ideas for a Saiga 7.62 x 49 conversion I have planned. I may be new to Saigas, but not to AK pattern rifles. here are a couple of pictures of my latest AK build. I still have some work to do, but it functions. I plan on painting the Bakelite furniture and rust bluing the rifle. My Romanian G with Yellow fever.
  10. I have four 30 7.62 x 39 Bakelite magazines with the Tula Star. (SPF) $170.00 shipped for all four. $98.00 for two mags shipped. Shipping will be USPS Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation and Insurance. I'll accept USPS Money order or Discreet Paypal +3.5 % or using the gift function. If you're from California, I will ship to your location as rebuild kits at no extra charge. I mostly hang out on the Survivors SKS board; feel free to review my transaction history and feedback there.
