Sand the JB Weld flush and smooth before refinishing the receiver and you'll never know the holes were there. Better than putting plastic plugs or useless rivets in the holes. I've got an aversion to welding on a heat treated receiver also. Too much heat and you can ruin it easily. Nathan

It's the general consensus of a lot of Chinese AK connoisseurs that many of the Chinese Military AK's had unthreaded barrels. If you're looking for original configuration that's something to consider. The last pic in post number 5 clearly shows the front of the trigger base hitting the receiver cutout. This doesn't allow the trigger to function properly and the hammer gets hung by the disconnect. The Tromix modified Saiga 12 FCG I just received from CSS a week ago needed the same modification. A flat diamond file got it functioning properly in about five minutes. Nathan

Looking for a cheap AK stock. Not worried about make. Just need something to put on my converted gun until I can get a VLTOR AK tube. Wood or plastic is fine. Condition isn't real important either, as long as it is functional. Nathan
