  1. i went with the dph imo feels good but felt better after the wife wraped it in paracord
  2. as i the title states im new to the hole reloading idea and have started to lookin in the a press. i have found 2 used in my area both for what i think is a decent price but would like the opnion of some people that have been doing this for a while. First one is a mec 600 the other is a mec 650 both owners are asking 75 bucks. just wondering what model i would be better off with? thanks in advance..
  3. thanks for the info just wanted to head off any problem befor it started
  4. well just tore down my s12 and after reasembly it seams like the gas adjustment knob is some what loose after turning it all the way in and then back the first position. just wondering if this is normal or do i have a problem starting?
  5. my vote is also for the ruger.heres mine with my buddys savage 93
  6. I to would like a harder trigger and it has more creep then a room full of child molesters. I think its cut to just over 26in.on the muzzle we just had a mock can and have not touched the gas system yet. Thinking we won't have to or atleast I hope not. More testing this week so ill keep you informEd of how it goes.maybe evenget a vie of.it in action
  7. Well over the weekend we took the sg/sks out to a friends to try it out. I will say i really like the way it feels shouldered nice and compacked imho it has made the recoil very controlable during rapid fireing even more so then befor. the look and feel are great. So on to the bad. the small flip up cover that give you access for your stripper clips seams to be rubbing on the bolt carrier forcing it somewhat down causing the bolt to not go to full battery. Also the trigger gave us a few issues with not wanting to rest 100% of the time. i beleve this is due to the return spring in the sg ki
  8. could just call mcmaster carr jsut looked and they have the 6x1 in flat bottom tap for 12.76 cant really beat that price no cutting no grinding.. also you might just want to go and call around to some of your local machine shops if the had the tap you need they might do it got a six pack ... i know i would
  9. i agree the no rapid fire sucks. first time there i didnt know bout that rule and thought i start my day with a mag dump from my saiga 12 big mistake!!! Just wish there was a nice gravel pit close to go shoot in..
  10. Im not sure what kind his is he got it from a gun show for about 200 bucks. In very good shape imo lol kinda seamed like a shame to cut the barrel and remove the nice wood. Im still waiting to head to the range with him and shoot thi thing. It seams built well and getting it all together wasnot all that bad.. I will agree with your post about the ball bearing is kinda BS but we used some gift wraping tape to hold it in while working with the stock. Have you shot your yet?
  11. just wondering if there were any other saiga 12 owners in south eat wisconsin? if so where do you guy or girls go out shooting? i dont have any i would call good ranges in my area but there is a place called McMiller sports center in eagle Wi
  12. well my buddy got his kit. and man he had to jump thru hoops to get it this fast. He ended up calling SG and asking if they had any blemished kits available and they did. so when it showed up we were expecting it to be messed up in some way but all we could find is a scrach where it must have been droped not a big deal at all. all in all it seams like a good kit but still havent taken it to the range yet. heres a pic of it with the barrel cut waiting for the brake to show up so it can be premintly attached
  13. also would likr to say welcome. best thing you can do here is read most any and all questions have beed asked befor so the answers are out there. Good luck with your new baby
  14. he has just placed the order for the kit. wait a year? are you kidding me?what the hell are they doing at SG making them one at a time? in that case for his sake i hope its worth it? he seams to care more about looks i was worried about reliablity i know how picky the saiga 12 can be when it comes to the gas system i just didnt want him to get off on the wrong foot.
  15. hey guys have a question on cutting the barrel down on an SKS. A friend of mine just picked up an SKS and has plans to bullpup it with an SGworks kit. but the barrel in his opnion is to long" i was wondering if there was any difference in the gas system between the paratrooper model and longer barrel versions of the gun..befor he sends it to the gunsmith to be cut.just wondering if the gas system will be ok or does it need to be modded like a sbs saiga. any info on this or the SGworks kit would be great.. thanks in advance Justin
