  2. Be patient guys, I have a feeling there are going to be some awesome sales around black friday and christmas, so I am saving up and am gonna get everything I want then. Everyone is starting to need to move inventory and I believe we have not hit bottom in prices yet, but we will see. Debating on adding another 47 or 74 to the collection but feel that money may be better spent on mags and ammo for what I have.
  3. Just remember to get the modified tapco that accepts the bho lever, second get a good pair of long needle nose pliers, believe me that thing is a dirty rotten bitch to get in without the right tools.
  4. Why not have both I love having both 7.62x39 and 5.45 I dont think I could part with either, full russian cold hammer forged barrels, does not get much better than that. Was going to buy another rifle but decided to spend money on mags ammo and parts for these 2. Dont get rid of your saiga and go over to the dark side, and I love ar's as well they are great shooters, you cant drag your ar behind your vehicle for 10 miles and load a mag and bust through it with no failures. I had contemplated the same thing switching to 5.56 and ar's completely but they just dont inspire that durability a
  5. thats what I did as well new channels due to canted sights in the first place, go slow and use lots of cutting oil.
  6. thanks for the parts link, next on the to do list.
  7. I am gonna use that tip when I do the front end on my x39 mancat. I just use clp because i have deformed pins trying to get them in there, I will definitely chamfer the ends next time to make it a tad easier. I used roll pins only because the original base on my wifes sar2 was canted and neutered. I was scared the old channels for the old pins on the canted base would screw up the new one when I went to put pins in,so I just went to 1/8 inch roll pins since 1/8 is 3.2 mm allowing me to use the existing channels but ream them a bit and line them up straight. Just waiting on k-var to g
  8. I guess I am more interested in the correct look but want good functionality for the price, I may purchase a posp instead but I at least found one other that peaked my interest, the kashtan 1p78. http://russianoptics.net/1P78Kashtan.html
  9. Awesome man good to hear, get some pics up once your done. I always put mine in with a little clp on them, makes em easier to remove if need be.
  10. try a little heat and then try it, also drive the pins from left to right if your looking from the back.
  11. That should work, there is nothing I would call easy about installing mag catches unless you are a seasoned vet at it.
  12. I wish to god they wood make a 20 round slab side tapco, I would be a buyer then. I know what you mean about the front lugs wanting to slip out, requires more thinking during changes but then again I am not going to war and neither is anyone here, so for all intensive purposes the tapcos work as well as any others to me and are very very durable. I have tried repeatedly to break them and just cant seem to do it without doing something stupid. The best polymer mags are the circle mags but they are hard to find and expensive, so really metal com blocs are the easiest and least expensive choi
  13. regular com blocs are great for 17 bucks or less, I have tapcos and they work good as well but need some fitting dependent on rifle. They can be had for 6 to 10 dollars on tapcos. I have yet to have one fail, stay away from promag for anything other than range use.
  14. no they are all that tight, I found watching tutorials really helped as I have the same catch and it was a bitch to get in the first time. Best thing is having a slave pin to help get one side in and run the post through the other.
  15. Mine works great with tapcos no complaints here, they require some slight fitting dependent on rifle but I always set up my catches for com blocs and then file the tapcos to fit. The 20 rounders are my favorite.
  16. I thought saigas used a modified 74 bolt with a 74 carrier? K-var has them at the moment I think.
  17. Nice red dot, reviews indicate washout is a bit of a problem but that is normal on most reflex sights.
  18. Thinking about possibly picking up there newest solar powered version for my wifes rifle. Anyone have one and what do you think of them. http://kalinkaoptics.com/rifle-scopes/red-dot/ak-vepr-saiga-slr/obzor-1p63-tactical-combat-scope-w-solar-dual-white-green-multipurpose-reticle-ak-akm-mount.html thinking about picking up a venezuelan red dot for my 7.62x39 as well, maybe! Mainly getting one for my wife because she has poor eye sight and I want here to enjoy her rifle so I figured I would get her somethinig nice, I can pick up aimpoints around here for about 400 but the solar power
  19. I figured this was the case, I just used 1/8 because it was drilled nice and straight and the pins and bits were easy too find, apparently noone around here stocks a 3mm drill bit that will hold up to the fsb hardened steel. The newer saiga's use a 74 fsb if I am not mistaken, have yet to do mine I am running the 14x1 adapter to 24mm so not totally correct but a real 74 brake is a plus, completely negates any recoil and muzzle rise now. I had a tapco( know how much you love those!) definitely a paper weight for sure.
  20. Mancat is it even possible to pull off a dimpled fsb without cutting it? Just curious because at least with the pins you can fix a canted fsb, had one on my sar 2 but was swapping it back anyway to orginal, I went to 1/8 roll pins since a good 3mm bit is hard to find.
  21. I know the neutered fsbs are dimpled but all the threaded ones I have seen are pinned, wonder if arsenals are dimpled or pinned?
  22. chili are you sporting a muzzle brake. sim my wifes sar 2 is in at 7.8 to 8lbs. depending on magazine
  23. sgammo has metal ones for about the same price, your welcome.
  24. you can pick up M&P 10 flat top around here for 999 and the ruger for 1650 at the local lawmens police supply. I think the M&P 10 is a better buy for what you get.
  25. I was about to say it looks like cobra knows how to rub that pussy real good.
