  1. It was a century build with US made ribbed barrel, I just let it ride and passed it up. I bought 2 Vepr 12s instead lol
  2. So how much would you guys say a brand new Yugo M72 RPK is worth? I know some Romanian ones for go for ~ $750 but what about a this yugo? I found one on gunbroker for like $1500, is that even realistic? I ask because I could trade here in a bit for one, and I think I'd be out on top if it's worth anything near $1500. It's a Century build on a Nodak Spud receiver
  3. Update for anyone who cares, we were told by our case worker that all we have to do is submit a new photo. That will take care of everything and we don't have to resubmit the package or pay any fees. We'll see..
  4. It will likely be ALL of them. I don't know guys, I can't find ANYTHING to suggest anything other than Izhmash related businesses. Also TheTruthAboutGuns reported in March about the sanctions then meant the end of imported Russian small arms etc and it did just shit besides create another panick buy. The more I read, the less it looks like anything besides the Saigas
  5. So does anyone think this will affect the Molot and the Vepr line?? I have more detail on the language of the sanctions: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/07/foghorn/breaking-obama-administration-bans-import-izhmash-kalashnikov-saiga-firearms/ http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/sanctions/OFAC-Enforcement/Pages/20140716.aspx All I am seeing is the Kalashnikov Concern by name, and other Izhmash research companies. Thoughts?
  6. Ya jerry52, I hear ya. It'd be comical really if it wasn't such a pain in the ass. Arik, I am not sure. The outcome letter didn't specify. We will be contacting them (Tally) on Monday. Yeoldtetool, thanks for the words of wisdom
  7. Copy and paste of my post on another forum: "I have my CCW, and my fiance was getting hers, but she submitted a photo that was over 30 days old. We received a letter saying submit a newer one or the application will be denied. Well, we intended to, but do to the rat race of life, it got lost in the shuffle (dumb I know!). Well fast forward and sure enough, we received another letter saying it was denied! We filed an informal hearing to petition to the denial, explained everything. During our research we even found out that the 30+ day photo could actually be accepted, but I digress. We did eve
  8. This has come up 1,000,000 times. It uses proprietary 12 gauge rounds, waste of money unless you're loaded and don't care about cross platform ammo. It says in the listing it comes with a RAS magazine, so I don't know where you are getting Magpul? Anyhow a .308 mag wouldn't work reliably if at all.
  9. Well you gotta trust your gut sometimes. But if you find another one in better shape, don't be worried about it being a WASR, like I and some others have said, it can be an awesome rifle that is just as good as any Kalashnikov out there.
  10. I have a WASR. It has chewed and spit out all kinda of ammo, even shitty corrosive rusted up ammo, and has NEVER FTF or FTE. It has never jammed, or even come close to jamming with all kinds of sand and shit in it as well. Now, would I have ever attempted any of this with my AR? Hell no, but that's besides the point. My point is, even if it has a canted front sight post or gas block, put your damn man pants on, grab a mallet and maybe a hammer and punch, and put that bitch in a vice and correct the issue. You'll have an AKM that will hang with the best of em'. It ain't rocket science, its a
  11. I follow him on Facebook, seems to be a pretty legit guy. I'd watch his TV show for sure.
  12. Thanks VR6! I got lucky with the storage, my fiancé lives on a few acres out in the county so I have a free place to keep it.
  13. Though I never need to justify anything I do to other people with my money, I will admit I didn't buy it because I need to haul a few bags of mulch from Home Depot. It's primarily my toy that I will work on. Working on cars or trucks is my form of meditation in this crazy world and for me, it feels good to just go into a zone and take something and make it better with my own hands. It will become an even more capable version of what it was build for because I made it that way.
  14. Thanks for the heads up on the construction tires! I'll look into that. I'm gonna go pass the hell out, I'll pick up this thread tomorrow Mullet, I snagged it for $5,500 with a $200 worth of diesel already in it and some things already done to it. It seemed like a decent price.
  15. Ya I am planning on getting Michelin 11x20 XLs or XZLs whenever I need new ones. But due to budget constraints, and other priorities like changing burnt out bulbs, fixing gauges and the wiper motors etc etc I will just run these for a while. I'm going to try to only drive it in ideal conditions for a while.
  16. Thanks guys. I am wanting to mod it somewhat, but I still want it to resemble something the military would use. Mullet, I'm not a huge fan of a bobbed deuce. I know they are better from a practical standpoint (better mpg and are faster,) but I think this truck just looks fuckin' awesome as a 6x6! Plus it gives me the feeling I could crush anything on the road
  17. Hey guys, I just wanted to share my new toy with y'all. I just picked this M35A2 up last week, and I made it a point to get one with a winch! I had to sell my Saiga .223 and I have my Saiga 12 on the chopping block to help pay for her (though that's still up in the air). She's a 71' with 46k original miles. She starts right up, and runs like a raped ape. There are some serious rust spots though, but fortunately they aren't on the frame and can be patched pretty easily. My plans: first kill the rust with some Ospho and naval jelly, then upgrade the turbo (put a 5 ton in), put some troop seats a
  18. So your making a radio? That looks awesome. Post some updates as you get them!
  19. Get a M35A2 deuce and a half (it may just be a matter of days for this resolution!) Obtain my real estate sales agent license Learn to speak basic German Some other random small ones like get in better shape etc etc
  20. People are not communist, governments are communist. You cant blame the russian citizenry for the gulags, the german people for the holocost, or the american people for the iraq war. Every soldier does what he can for his country, and thats honorable. ...and there it is, he developed the AK to protect his homeland and his people which is honorable. How it was used, who it was used by is not what is being discussed....simply the man and his design. Don't read any further into it than that. Atleast, that's where I'm coming from anyway. That's practical enough and is a good point.
  21. Well said, someone knows his history. I'd also point out that contrary to what cold war soviet propaganda wants you to think, the AK-47 was developed by other individuals as well. I actually did know that, but figured it wasn't worth mentioning to make the point I was aiming for. There are even claims about him copying other rifles in the 46' competition, such as the TKB-415, when he and his team redesigned their AK-1 prototype after the TKB was introduced.
  22. Russia isnt my enemy. My enemies consist of asshats in washington, and those that wear hoodies and carry skittles and get handouts on the welfare line while coasting on others' accomplishments. Im not the sort who jumps ship and claims people to be an "enemy" when in fact they are some of the more patriotic people Ive ran across. I wish more people here would take a lesson from the Russians and learn how to be a bit more patriotic, other than waving a flag around while chanting go USA. The fact is, great men stem from all forms of governments. I guess Einstein was a nazi since he came
  23. C'mon guys, let's not lose some damn perspective over this guy. He deserves respect for his accomplishments, but he was no hero. He was a communist, who designed a weapon to be to used on the Soviet Union's enemies: us, and the freedoms we stand for. The testing grounds for his design were covered in the blood of the free, even the blood of some of our own family. Last time I checked communism is a shit wrapped in more shit. Despite the weapon being adapted to the the role of being the tool that helped some in oppression become free, don't lose perspective...
