  1. At least he is not one of ours, that thing is screaming for a conversion. Also, the comment about guns being recently legalized in parks is underhanded, disgusting and slimy. The deranged white flour iraq manufactured nutjob did not decide to make a fugitive style run for his pathetic life into the woods because they let people carry guns there.
  2. I like parts of the california countryside, so i will support this thread. it would be a much uphill battle, but it is possible, if one was to copy the model of the AZCDL, create a large political base and fund a state professional lobbyist. personally, i would rather you move here and support the most successful civil rights lobbying organization in american history, but if you want to try your hand and making your own, i would support that, as well, but there is alot of work to be undone, there.
  3. Buy both. The Classic, and The Shooter. I prefer the x39, myself, but if you are looking for something that you can send alot of lead downrange for small pennies, and think you will be shooting alot, go with the 5.45. Shooting occasionally, the x39 prices wont break the bank. Even with a "good" century barrel, the Saiga has a much better, chromed and forged barrel. If you dont feel like converting, the Tantal has its own nice features and will be "Done" when it arrives at your dealer. Sorry if i didnt tell you what to do, but it really depends on what you are looking for.
  4. yeah, I do not think so, it is just an ak pistol. If you wanted a section for every AK variant ever made, the forum list would go on forever.
  5. I bet you can get that time way down.
  6. You really will have to take it apart, it could be as simple as some debris blocking travel, or something more involved like a slipped or spring, or a broken edge on the locking peices. If parts are available, its definitely worth looking at. many revolver pieces need fitting though, so be aware of that. If you are uncomfortable doing it, there should be many gunsmiths that would take a look at it for a tiny fee, at least get an estimate for repair.
  7. not sure about the WZ98, but the tantal 5.45X39 has a much thinner barrel at the gas block than the saiga .223. the 223 measures .631, AFAIK.
  8. Yeah, Risky is 100% correct, and did a great job explaining what I was trying to say to begin with. If it doesnt click in your head for whatever reason, find some slow motion videos of rpg launches, its pretty neat how well they work. Either way, pm me, ill give you my address to send that money. To OP: if you were serious about working on the idea, here is a decent write-up about modern artillery versions of the concept, and its caveats. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/munitions/rap.htm It might not be a totally end all be all idea, but i think its more sound than the
  9. Hey word, can you send me those 10 ga shotgun shell dimensions again? thanks.
  10. that is how an RPG works, its sound, just takes a bit of engineering. without something like an explosive warhead, i dont think i see the advantage, a rifled barrel with a heavy load would probably be much more accurate.
  11. The 20s are also a necessity for underfolder stocks.
  12. no, but it think the person who brought it up was saying that we can blame the gvmt for making the screwing compulsory.
  13. Oh hai guys, just hanging out in tampa... No charges should at the least equal charges against the DA.
  14. that number doesn't include the fact that Fedgov still owns 26% of GM, IIRC
  15. I've seen packages get lost in customs for two months and then just show up one day, and ive seen packages just disappear in customs without a trace, and ive even seen a package leave customs, only to be delivered 1500 miles from the address they were addressed to (wtf, that was according to the original tracking number, showing the correct address.) Usually when ive seen packages seized by customs, they notify the sender, not the recipient. Its a mess, and always a gamble. Either way, you are probably out of luck, and the problem is probably the fine folk at US Customs, and to the previo
  16. That idiocy belongs to BATFE, not Oly, IMHO. Sure people warned them that the government might do something that fundamentally stupid, but on the other hand, look at all the warnings that were given here in response to an s12 drum magazine. They, and MD, made the right call in providing a product that the people wanted, cowering in fear over potential regulation wouldn't have helped anyone.
  17. Some, and I do say some, of the goals are admirable, but the means are immoral and will be resisted, as those same goals could be met, with much better and moral solutions. We have no reason to abandon our humanity, to save our race.
  18. Good luck to them, its only a matter of time before criminals will have the ability to watch the police's every movement as well. Yeah, GOB nailed it, what do you think podunk ND pulls in with tax revenue? Probably more people being paid to be involved in that raid than live in the area.
  19. Yeah, i think that everything bad i have heard about oly's is just due to volume, they produced such a huge volume of parts, that if anyone bought a used AR that some bubba f-ed up, chances are some, if not all, of the parts were stamped "Olympic Arms". I dont know of anyone who has a specific issue with them, but im not an AR snob either. Now, there is a guy in Sandstone Minnesota that might have another set of complaints about his rifle, but i doubt he blames Olympic Arms specifically.
