  1. That's where I went, but they just had traditional type of wood stocks. Thanks anyway.
  2. Do you have an exact link? I'm having trouble seeing what you're wanting me to find. Thanks.
  3. Just looked at the site. They only have traditional AK furnature.
  4. Bumping to the top. Is there any other USA made wood makers other than Ironwoods?
  5. I have had this Tapco furnature on my converted Saiga for a short while now, but am starting to think that I'd like wood furnature instead. Of course, to keep it compliant, it would need to be made in the USA. I'm kinda thinking of doing something similar to the VEPR look. Any suggestions? Add web addresses here. Thanks.
  6. Where I am not sure of the accuracy of the Saiga system, I was doing a great job of drilling the [near] same spot at the 100 yard burm at my range. I have a side scope rail for it, so maybe I will scope it just to see what it would do at 100 yards, then report back. Regardless, where it may be true that the trigger group, originally sent, would be servicable, after putting the Tapco on, there is no comparison in the quality of the feel. And if you're a person who requires a good trigger for ample performance, you will probably NOT like the unconventional trigger.
  7. What handguard is that and where could I get it? Very nice conversion. Thank you! Yes, it is a Tapco handguard and a Magpul AFG. It isn't traditional, but it is the less expensive way to go, and is quite functional.
  8. aww dammit, oh well they're not that expensive True. Less than 20 bucks. Perhaps you can get someone to buy it. I'm trying to sell both my unconverted collapsing stock and SAW grip right now. Good luck to you!
  9. No. I absolutely had to buy another SAW grip that works with the converted Saiga. The other one didn't line up. I suppose if you are REAL good, you could dremel it to work, but it is probably better to just get a new one.
  10. Well, . . . I think I WOULD like to do another one, but make it the more traditional AK look. . . . . . which would cost quite a bit more. This one is more utilitarian, to be used and [hopefully not] abused. But should I do another one, nice Ironwoods wood will be used. The trigger is literally night and day. Where it was gritty, creepy, heavy, and cause of early shootin' finger fatigue, . . . the G2 conversion is precise, light, and I feel like I could shoot all day long. I hope to take it out soon to do a range test. I am glad that I was able to keep the bolt hold open. That spr
  11. Okay, the process is now finished. Thanks to CSS for sending great parts for the conversion. I have added pics in the photo section. But just for this thread, . . .
  12. Here is the result of initially getting the collapsing stock and SAW grip for the NON-converted Saiga, . . . realizing [after a day at the range] that the original trigger design of the "Sporterized Saiga" pretty much sucked, . . . . then getting stuff from CSS to make a complete conversion. I struggled to get the bolt hold open spring into place. After that, it was sticking down too far to where I could feel it on my finger [while it was on the trigger], so I cut it down to where, when engaged, it is flush with the receiver. Of course, the G2 trigger is TONS better than what was on there f
  13. I hate to say it, but............. Looking forward to the pics. Yes. . . . . Yes you did. The parts are supposed to be in today's mail. I should have taken pics of it before, . . . but there is a pic in this thread [already] that pretty much sums up what I had it like. I'll get the final [until I get a side mounted scope rail for occasional scope use] pics on here later today.
