  1. So, you made two jumps with military parachutes from a military aircraft without going to Airborne School and you repacked chutes on the Drop Zone? As an experienced Static Line Jumper, I call BS dude. A UH-60 has no skid to stand on, you sit in the door and fall out. 800 feet is the minimum altitude for a static line drop in peace time. Army doesn't like to do that much at all, they prefer 1250' as 800' doesn't give you much wiggle room to activate your reserve if the main doesn't open. Even Riggers won't repack chutes on the ground. What did you use for the Pack Closing Tie, a bo
  2. Relleno, you might like this one... Did my first two jumps on a dare with a bunch of friends when stationed at Fort Bliss for training -- both hop and pops from a UH-60 at 800' The first no problem -- stand on the skid and fall off. The second jump confirmed my belief that we all have a time to go and until then you can push fate as you will... After we hit the ground after the first jump, we were told to hammer a stake in the ground because we were going to repack our chutes... We followed instructions and loaded the helis with full knowledge that we were about to die very so
  3. Are you talking about the "fire Controll Group" = trigger parts?
  4. No Just gotta fill out the request form to gain access -- you need to put a reason for the request -- mine was: "I am a patriotic American and have need of your products." It worked.
  5. All the info you need to do anything you want or need to the Saiga 12 can be found here in the forum. IMHO anyone can do the conversion if they first read through the forum and then take their time. I have some experience with metal working so I found the conversion to be extremely easy -- I pretty much got two done in under two hours, and I did not rush. I would say read all you can here and soak up the info -- then even if you wimp out and not do it, you will at least understand what someone else did and why. Having a weapon and not understanding how it works and how to fix it if it brea
  6. In most cases I always seem to be Odd Man Out, even here on this forum to some extent: 1. I have no interest in any type of sports -- they are a waste of my time. 2. I live in the tree huggin, granola chompin Obama luvin center of the universe (Oregon) and yet I am pretty much a right wing patriotic type. 3. I own weapons but consider them tools to be used when necessary but not as enhancements to or pronouncements of my masculinity. 4. I am retired from a career in the U.S.Army but would rather get my wife out the house and let burglars take what they want -- life is too precious.
  7. That's funny -- I'm doing the exact same thing with both the monster and the tromix shark breaks here in Oregon. I pick them up today.
  8. I have a place -- remote and all mine. Gotta love the NW with all the boonies... I did the research and stocked up on all the goodies needed. I have the barrels out to be cut down and a Tromix Monster and Shark brake perm attached at 18.001 inches... Luckily I live in the same town as Pauly's Steelin so I dropped the internals off to have his magic applied. I have 8 oz of Duracoat Combat Black heading my way -- am thinking of some other color (subtle difference or outlandish / I'm split) for the charging handle, safety, and trigger. It was funny, I asked the wife what color she wa
  9. That helo is not a secret and was easy to tell what it was by the tail rotor left behind. Do you know of other picts of the not secret helo?
  10. Didn't GM receive bucks from the original TARP program? I seem to remember that the Gov't owns 60% of GM, hence the moniker "Government Motors". So my dear friends, that means that you and I have had some of our tax dollars diverted so that a pro communist propaganda film could be produced. I for one think this BS should stop!

  14. I do not "port the hell out of the barrel" I spec it w/ correct 19" ports. I am completely sick of this. I have been in the industry a long time and never fought w/ another company, vendor or shop. This is ridiculous, I don't like it one bit, and am done argueing. Post whatever you want, I will not respond anymore. It is not worth the hassel and is making me sick to my stomach! Later. It did not seem to me like Pauly accused you of being an unknowledgable professional. But then again, I am just a cherry newb and do not yet understand the long term sub currents tha
