Has anyone customized their original forearm by routing out venting slots on either side? I've been giving this some thought. I think if I did, I would let a machine shop do it.

Excellent guys! Exactly what I wanted! This gives a round house figure on what to take off even though I will be filing just a little at a time and trying it out.

I'm soon going to be installing a bullet guide, and to be able to accept AK mags I see it's required to do a little filing on the mag catch. Just for a reference I was wondering what the final length of your catch is until it would accept the AK mag? I used a vernier caliper on an unmodified catch and it is dead-on 1.50 inches in length. thanks!

I've had 500 rds of Wolf 154gr SP backordered for 6 months and was notified today that next expected ship date is Jan 2012. I've emailed Wolf with no answer. Does anyone have an inside scoop on this? Thanks

A new 7.62X39 owner as you can tell. I ordered and will receive this week the 5th Gen UTG side mount. I have decided on a Buriis FullField II 2X7 scope (not yet ordered),and a set of Burris Signature rings. What height rings do I need (low, med, high)? I've just about setlled on medium,but am not sure if this would be right or not. I have no conversions to the rifle, and am not sure if there will be any. I've searched for this particuliar issue, but either I'm not skilled enough to find it, or there's none to be found. Thanks!

I just purchaced one from Arms of America for 379 and joined this site at the same time to learn what I just did. Happy with both choices. LOL
