Forget the plate, waste of money in my opinion...we use the plain old shepards crook here at RJF and I've installed a few the last couple of days. It's all about making sure that your pins are all the way in so you can get it in the grooves, if your pins are pushed out just a little bit it will be a pain in the ass. Also a little tip, cut about a 1/4 inch off the end...makes it easier to get under the pin holding the hammer.
