  1. All in all, too much hassle to try to convert a saiga into a pistol right? That's what I'd go with.
  2. Personally, I love the steel frame handguns and particularly a 1911 type. Of course, that's just my personal preference. Frankly, if you put a glock or an h&k in my hands and told me that was all I'd get, I'd be happy for it. I don't know what other people have against "fake" guns but I know the history of glocks and h&ks.. and even others like the springfield umm.. I forgot its model designation. They've proven reliable and quite effective in most every situation they've been placed in. That holds alot of merit to me. I just happen to like the heft and aesthetics of the steel f
  3. The Mec Gar (or Mek Gar or Mag something... whatever they're called) mags are quite good. They make oem mags for a variety of quality firearms... S&W, Berretta, Kel-Tec... and others. They also make excellent aftermarket mags for a large variety of firearms. I don't own a baby eagle nor do I intend to own one but I'd put my faith in a mec gar mag. Sam
  4. Rangers are nice Aegis. What you're intending to do to it sounds fine. You should be able to increase power output and make the little truck sound quite tough but as for fuel economy, keep in mind that more power generally means more fuel consumption... unless there's something out there that I haven't heard about that can give you more power and better fuel economy at the same time (it's possible that something like that exists and I'm just ignorant of that). As for towing capacity, it has as much to do with your transmission and frame as it does your engine. I would stick to the manufact
  5. Definitely call a lawyer. Insurance (either yours or theirs) should cover all of the bills or at least most of them but then there's the issue of time off of work, pain and suffering and mental anguish that need to be addressed. Normally I'm not one to sue people frivolously but in this case, especially if it was for certain deemed the other person's fault, pursue the case till you've got what you deserve out of it. Other than that, I'm truly sorry for you and your wife, especially your wife. It's unfortunate that accidents (the cops around here don't refer to them as that btw, they cal
  6. JT, Cool man. The owner of our dealership also owns a chevy and a chrysler dealership. It must be a trend, I see a lot of setups like that here in Wisconsin. There's a difference in that we don't have the market cornered on new cars here in Milwaukee. It'd be nice to be the only new car dealer(s) in the city. lol I'd have a room full of guns and ammo by now if that were so. Aegis, A Honda CRV is a good little suv. If gas mileage is a concern for you, before you decide on a vehicle, look at a Mercury mariner hybrid. Max towing cap of 1000lbs, awd, gas mileage of 33mpg in the
  7. Really JT? Which dealership? The parts guys here say the same thing. Lots of business in parts. I'm thinking I should go and work in parts rather than selling cars.
  8. Aegis, I've got some info on pick-up trucks. Whether or not this will help you in your decisios is up to how you use the info I have but hopefully it will help. Let's address your questions. 1) How important is 4x4? 2) What is adequate towing capacity? 3) Is a manual transmission truck really that bad? 4) Black or red? 1. How important is 4x4. Honestly, my father has driven pick-ups all his life and he's really made it a point never to buy a pick-up without 4x4 but then he uses it for farm use. In the city, 4x4 is really a waste of money unless you live in the upper half
  9. I'm fairly interested in the tri-cut throwers. If BVamp decides he doesn't want the stars though, those are what I'm really interested in.
  10. The CZ is a very reliable handgun and reasonably priced too. Personally, I like the 1911s so I'd recommend a Springfield or Para 1911. If you can spend a little more money, go with Colt or Kimber 1911.
  11. Well said Aegis. With all that said, I'd like to add that the Kel-Tecs aren't by any means a bad gun to buy. It's just that better can be had for the money, especially if it's going to be a CCW.
  12. So I've had a 1911 type break on me and it was in that same spot. Of course, the breakage didn't look so clean or symmetrically cut. I mean, the rail had cracked then broken there. That almost looks as though it were meant to be there but of course, I've never owned any para-ordinance pieces. Be sure to contact them and see what's up. If it's a breakage, make use of the warranty if you are the original buyer. Mine was a franken-gun with no warranty. Original owner had put a colt slide and barrel on a Federal alloy frame. Regardless, I had thousands of rounds through it before it broke.
  13. Indy, I'd like some of those throwers (darts and stars). Let me know if there are any left please. Sam
  14. I'd have to agree with Ranger about the Bersas. I have a Bersa .380 and it's a nice little gun. It's certainly not the best little gun you can buy but it's pretty damned good for the price. Mine cost me about $225. I especially like the DA/SA trigger of the Bersa. I had a Kel-Tec 9mm and frankly, I hated the DA only trigger of the Kel-Tec. I mean, I don't mind a DA trigger on a revolver but then again, if I'm on the range, I can always manually cock the hammer on a revolver. The Kel-Tec has a hammer you can't cock manually and it's ALWAYS a DA trigger. That means that there's always th
  15. Aegis, Heheh. If you cap a few cops while they're raiding your house, I don't think you'd have much to worry about in the way of legal defense. Frankly, from the couple of cops I know (one of them a SWAT member) they'd shoot in self defense then "disarm" you later. Seeing as that they're trained to shoot for the center of mass and to shoot to eliminate the danger, I'd say that you won't really need to even talk to an attorney after it's all done. The only thing you'd really need to think about is saying hello to your ancestors. Of course, I could be wrong. Sam
