  1. What kind of carrying pouch would hold a 12 round drum? SAW 200 rnd? I don't have one yet so I was hoping that one of you owners could let me know. Thanks, Russell
  2. Thanks for the feedback. Looks like I need another pouch solution for my designated shotgunner.
  3. Folks, Does anyone know if one (or two) 8 rd Saiga - 12 magazine(s) will fit in a standard US ALICE 30 round ammo pouch? Those are the ones designed to hold three AR 30 rd mags. I have never seen dimensions for the 8 rd mag. Enquiring minds want to know. Butzbach

  5. So, It was a good landing. That must have been a hot fire to completely destroy the superstructure down to the ground. I was inside one at an air show in Texas and there is some major alluminum framing that ain't there anymore! One of the ground crew, with tears in his eyes, said they would restore even if it took 10-15 years.
  6. I have shot about 200 rounds through my SOCOM II. I have had no problems and it groups pretty well for me with iron sights. I bought a case in bandoleers and some more that was linked for MG. BTW Nato 7.62 X 51 is all the same. There is no "hot" ammo for machine guns. It all has to be interchangeable. RG is universally praised on the M14 The Firing Line Forum by guys who have shot a lot more of it than I have. I don't think you will go wrong. .42 / rd is an excellent price.
  7. Thanks for your thoughts and your service. I have my ammo stored in bandos in ammo cans. I had classmates who went into Grenada.
  8. Thanks for your thoughts. I am right at 160 rds of .308 for my load out. That's all I can manage these days. If my boys are with me when the balloon goes up I'll let them hump some for me! Thanks for the info on the Ironman.
  9. Thanks for your thoughts! Especially thankful for the 108 round total. I am thinking I would start with the drum and then go to 8 round mags. Which do you like better from a handling point of view the 8 or 10 rd? The ten appears to be too long to me but I have no direct experience. I figure if we could win WWII with an 8 rd battle rifle 8 should be enough LOL! BTW will flares function the action?
  10. Thanks for your thoughts. BTW there is a widely distributed picture of Kalishnikov shaking hands wtih Eugene Stoner.
  11. Folks, I should have explained. A Basic Load is the minimum number of rounds of ammunition that an infantryman carries into battle. Thanks for you replies.
  12. That particular group was telling other forum members how they would be flown to Columbia for a duel to the death, or ambushed locally, and was the source of the aforementioned Saiga video. It's on youtube for any who care. I understand he pays his ad fees, but somehow I think we can do better with an open forum and real professionals like Jack Travers, and some of the equipment suppliers here. It's a shame our "Tactics" source on the board has burned so many bridges, but we just have to live with it. One of the guys who works with the Nutnfancy Project apparently builds S12s as a busines
