I actually did not have the barrel nut just the orginal screw down thread protector--just ordered the barrel nut and will give that a try.

Just got a Krebs Muzzel brake for saiga 12 but it will not thread all the way down--the original barrel nut still works. Any ideas on what to do next?

I called 5 locations in Columbus today to see if the gunsmith would install a conversion kit on my Saiga 12 and they all said NO--actually only four-- the old timer at the last location had no idea what I was talking about. Just don't want to do the conversion myself.
