  1. Balance and a nicer trigger pull for starters. You'll also have easier access to the mag catch and BHO. There is also a distinct advantage of getting up close and personal with the internal workings of your firearm. It's quite simple, you don't need expensive tools, and you'll thank me in the end. This^ You'll be glad you converted if you do it. You could also take the easy way out (like I did lol ) and send it to someone. Jack Travers (JTEngineering) did mine. Excellent conversion and runs amazing.
  2. If you want to work for it yo run right (or pay someone to do the conversion) then definitely the saiga
  3. For optics on the cheap, I would check out vortex. Excellent sights for the money. I have also been using a bushnell trs 25 for a long time on an ak. I've dropped the gun directly on it and it still hold zero and the finish surprisingly still looks great too lol it's in an ak I use a lot so it gets beat up some. Now for and event better sight, the aimpoint pro is awesome! They can be had for around 400 and sometimes less. Very durable and you still get the amazing aimpoint battery life. I have one on an ar. Yeah I missed the nothing expensive part in the original post. Lol
  4. The sight says they have a 100 percent guarantee. So I would contact them if theirs something wrong with the mags.
  5. Yeah, I bought several back when they where under 10 dollars. Never had any issues with em at all.
  6. I'm a fan of the rs regulate mounts. Excellent mounts. Stole these from their website.
  7. Barack unites us all the time! In fact, I bet he'd done more to unite our community than he has any other (blacks included!). Diet Cokes are on me... Most soft drinks like coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, etc make my throat swell. But I'll take some iced tea if your buying! Lol
  8. If I was gonna buy now, it would definitely be the vepr. It's converted, mag well, lrbho, ak sights, and the list keeps going lol it really is a nice weapon and sgm is making a drum for it http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/92401-25-round-drum-for-vepr-12-by-sgm-tactical-coming-soon/
  9. Am I the only one that actually kinda likes this? Haha thanks for making me feel like a weirdo guys! I'll admit, they are better looking rails out there but there's a lot worse too lol. It looks pretty good without the top part of the front rail (just the bottom.) Stole some pics of it on a saiga. Not as pretty as the krebs or TWS though
  10. So you're one of those youtube "let's make fun of girls" douches...? j/k j/k Just on the weekends. I'm a real sweetheart through the week. Haha na that was payback for a prank she had pulled on me earlier that day. Haha we did crap like that to each other all the time haha
  11. Welcome! You definitely need a saiga. (Or vepr) with the right parts (recoil pad, muzzle break, or whatever) the recoil is not bad at all. The biggest issue women have had shooting mine is the weight of the firearm. The saiga I usually shoot is pretty heavy (Tri rail, muzzle break, light, kitchen sink) They general like the one in my avatar pic better because it's not as heavy, even with the increased recoil. Only one woman has not liked shooting it at all. She was very petite. And I may have switched the shells from bird shot to 3" magnums while she wasn't looking...man did I get cussed
  12. First off, I wouldn't use this method for what your doing but here it is anyway. Lol it usually doesn't take long to soften up (but I really throw the acetone to it lol) I have only used it to build boxes, communication device holders, etc. so it's pretty much just straight lines your working with there. But I just poured the acetone in a pan and stuck the ends I needed to bond in it till it started dissolving. then clamp the two pieces together where they needed to be and then come back later to make it look all pertty and such. I doubt this is the proper way but it worked and none of th
  13. I use acetone a lot when bonding plastic. Always worked well for me.
  14. Well it really depends. Lol Here's the kit for the conversion http://www.carolinashooterssupply.com/product_p/s12-kit-5-ctr-6pc.htm Here's the enhanced recoil pad http://www.carolinashooterssupply.com/product_p/magpul-recoilpad.htm
  15. I would suggest the JT Engineering brake you have on it does quite a lot to reduce the recoil and muzzle jump. I know mine sure makes a difference in how the gun handles especially when firing in a fairly rapid fashion.. Yeah it actually helps quite a bit.
  16. You would think so as an 80% isn't a firearm, but I'm no expert on my own states laws let alone Cali. You probably go to jail for life for something like that there Probably in that crazy state. But since it isn't a firearm I don't see why they just can't destroy them
