colt 3" defender and ruger 4.25" commander both .45 acp....works for me.

I say precision and surplus do not match.
surplus is for cheaper shooting when superior accurancy is not needed for that day. nothing like cheaper shooting just to be plinking.
I've been saving up for a Savage Model 10 in .308 for a while now. My club has a 500 meter range and I am looking to get a rifle that I can blame a miss on me and me only.

that is the 308 i have been looking at. friend of mine has one and seems to be decent for the $$.
Do you reload? I have a 7mm rem mag, I will begin reloading for soon, so that takes some of the bite out of the bullet cost. in my experience the 7mm is a very accurate round that kicks like a fucking mule! Then again 50 or so rounds in a sitting is not that much.
don't reload as of not yet, most of the CF is in the russian flavor so steel case is mainly what i shoot.

looking at bolt action CF and kinda stuck on 7mm or 308. wanting a precision shooter and these are the 2 calibers i'm interested in. i know the 7mm is more expensive too feed but the 308 is cheaper (surplus) and seems to be more avail. what say you guys on this one? not going to be an everyday shooter just looking for long distance rig.

get the savage...can always paint the stock her fav color then strip it later an redo as time moves on. the rascal is a much better rifle.

i'd say piss on him. he bought in good standings as you sold it to him with fully understanding as to what he was getting. what i read in your ad is self explanitory and reads as an honest up front deal. i wouldn't give it any more thought.....deal done!

Hey adjc, I used to work with the guy in your avatar. If his hands weren't in his pockets, they were in his nose. Nasty bugger. Arrogant and lazy too. I'm glad they canned him. We even heard clients making fun of him.

thanks to all for the info. took em both out today and ran all the heavy loads thru them...no probs. the vepr chewed them out with no flaws, S12 had one stove pipe due to an old ammo casing but other than that business as usual. the S12 runs an auto plug which works well, didn't have to mess with regulating it at all....nice upgrade! ran both factory 8rd and Csspecs 8rd mags, both performed 100%. man those steel mags are NICE, built heavy duty.

not going to run too much of it as only i have about 30 rds of the 3" slugs. any thoughts on the vepr...it gets shot the most.

will the vepr and the saiga handle rifled slugs and 3" magnum ammo as in turkey loads with no issues as to bbl damage? that is if the shotguns mentioned will cycle them ok. just found quite a few of these and was wondering if safe to use. here's one in question....TIA

on the v12 i used the factory hammer with the g2 kit, seemed like the US hammer was hanging up when bolt was cycling. have not had any problems with the pull, it is just as smooth as my rifles with the complete g2 kit. by doing this you lose the 3rd compliance part but that can be made up with other parts.

been doing this with the carrier for yrs....IMHO it's the only way. saw an old soviet video many yrs back doing the same method, that's where i picked it up at.
