Well said, and very true. A lot of companies from CA and other libtard states are moving to Texas, and bringing their liberal sheep with them. The good thing is that Texas is so big and conservative enough to absorb it so far without much damage. But it is not for lack of trying. I also like your point about how many states have open carry. I have friends in other states who have called or text me in the last couple of weeks talking about Texas OC, and how I felt about Texas being the first state to allow open carry. I like FDE, and I have 1 AR that has FDE furniture. You should also look at the Magpul grey. Its is pretty slick. I think Darth mentioned this, but Cerakote Bronze is bad ass when paired with black furniture. That is my next project with a middy I have had for a while.

+1 on the Brownells Alumahyde. Its good stuff, just have to be careful because it goes on a little thicker than other paints and can mess with tolerances. On painting roll marks, I use a tooth pick and pretty much do what Chile said. Get a drop on the tooth pick tip and it pretty much paints itself. Good luck with your project, and like everyone else said, surface prep is the key to how well your paint job looks. I use brake cleaner for the first cleaning, heat it to get the oil to leech out, then scrub it with soap and water in a tub, and heat again to quickly dry. I wear latex glove
