  1. Springfield Loaded 1911. Love that gun. Nightstand gun is M&P 45, with Apex trigger. Love that gun with the aftermarket trigger. Duty gun is a Sig 220. Good gun, I just don't like the 12 pound looooong trigger pull on the first shot. Follow up shots are nice at about 3.5 lbs.
  2. I just hate reloading for the 40. The pressures are really high and you have to be extra careful. Not sure what my deal is, just the 40 creeps me out a bit. Like I said, I made 1k rounds for it that are just barely powerful enough to cycle the action, and that is just fine with me. I carry factory Speer GD's for defense.
  3. Only have one .40 cal, and it is not exciting at all. Its a S&W SD40. Kind of a mix between the Sigma (suck) and the M&P line. It is about the size of a G23, and with an aftermarket trigger (Apex), it is a great shooting gun. It's my truck pistol. I loaded 1000 rounds of 40 a while back, and I suspect that will last me about 30 years. Don't shoot 40 much at all.
  4. Not necessarily, but I understand why you would say that. It was really fun when something most of us had never seen before popped up during someone's build and we would all give input to figure out a solution. Discussions over whether or not to put the BHO lever back in, or when so and so would have this or that back in stock. Every question I have ever had related to a Saiga conversion was fully answered on this forum, and I have two excellent converted Saiga's to show for it. There are still plenty of people left to help you with your conversion. There is a wealth of knowledge on this
  5. The forum was the best when Saigas were under $300. That's how I found this place. Prices have skyrocketed and i think some have just lost interest in the Saiga. The Vepr is still pretty available, but well north of $300. Mayne we can resurrect SS for entertainment purposes. Dubya is another one that has been gone a while.
  6. Yeah, I have heard that the offset optic takes some getting used to, but that won't be a problem. I appreciate the response, and that is exactly what I needed to know. It's kind of one of those deals where I don't want to get one and wish I had bought the other one.
  7. I picked up a VEPR 308 slant back w/ 23" barrel. I really want to get a POSP for it, but choosing one is proving difficult. I first wanted variable power, but read in several places that the variable POSP scopes are less accurate than fixed magnification. Something about point of impact changing as you increased magnification? Anyone have experience with this? So if fixed magnification, I would think 6x or 8x by 42. I will be shooting from 100 to 500 yards. Any suggestions or input would be appreciated. Eastwave has both the 6x and 8x in stock. I just have to decide what I want to get.
  8. Love my PF9. I wear it in an Unkle Mike's slide holster in the straps on my vest. One of the "better" triggers I have seen on a KelTec, whose triggers historically have sucked. I shoot better with a G17 or G19 than I do anything except a 1911. Would love to handle and own a G34 or 35.
  9. Really want a Glock 34 or 35. If we ever go to a carry what you want policy, I think I would go with the 35 and get an aftermarket 9mm barrel. While I do love Glocks, that last statement is very very true. Don't get my wrong, the most enjoyable and accurate gun I own is a Springfield Loaded 1911. But the 2nd most enjoyable and accurate gun for me that I own is a G19.
  10. Love Glocks also. 19 is my favorite. I think with the grip angle, it either works or doesn't for people. You either love it or hate it. I also like how simple it is to completely take it apart and put back together.
  11. Midsouth shooters supply Varmint Nightmare bullets are hard to beat. Soft point and hollow point for added nastiness. I get excellent accuracy with them. Sounds like you have plenty now, though. Thanks for the tip. I will look into those. I used to shop at MSS quite a bit, and not really sure why I stopped. I'll check that pill out. ETA: Good prices on that projectile. Looks very similar to the Hornady Spire Point, but about $10 per thousand cheaper. Thanks again. Gonna have to get me a pack of those and try em out.
  12. +1000 on stick with it and fix it. You got a great deal, and more than likely a pretty inexpensive fix. I hope it works out for you, and please post updates if you get the problem resolved. I do agree with the others who mentioned ejector/extractor problem, and I think that is more than likely what you are looking at.
  13. Thanks to the ATF and all their BS, I was suddenly "inspired" to buy 6000 projectiles. Hornady 55g spire point. One of the better reloading bullets out there for the money. As someone earlier mentioned, my accounting department not very happy with me.
  14. The problem with the BATFE is they have very little to do. They are constantly looking for work because anything they can do the FBI can do with more resources. There are too many agencies with overlapping boudaries. The IRS, ATF, and DEA could all be eliminated. Keep the US Marshalls, FBI, Border Patrol and ICE, and Secret Service.
  15. A lot of truth to this. We will see what comes of it. I can't imagine them banning all AR ammo. You might as well just ban the AR. Oh wait.....
  16. Such horseshit. This will make 556 ammo virtually impossible to get for a reasonable price for many months.
  17. LegionUSA, yall show oos for the 799 vepr I was wanting to buy. Any idea when that one may come back in stock? The other 308s on your site are a bit pricey for me.
  18. Like someone else posted, a level 3 vest is very hard to stab. It will not stop a knife, but will probably keep it from going deep enough to do any serious damage. Our vests are USARMORY and some have Point Blank. The new Point Blank vests are supposed to be thinner and cooler than older versions. Like someone else posted, a level 3 vest is very hard to stab. 19. Lol, yeah I knew about that BS, just didn't expect it to affect x39 ammo. Of course, I also thought the 22lr shortage would be over by now, so shows how much I know. And I agree with your comment about GT. I stopped shooting my GT stash about 6 months ago.
  20. Sorry, but did I miss a panic somewhere? Why is x39 ammo running low or out in many places?
  21. +1 for SGammo. If I can't make it, they get my business.
  22. Welcome! I have yet to see a problem on here that someone can't help with. Like mentioned before, take your time and ask questions. More than likely someone has had the same exact problem.
