  1. Board member Kevin_M4 had some pics posted over on the AKfiles.com board, but the links no longer work. You may be able to contact him directly.
  2. If I recall correctly, I picked up the shortest 4mm set screw I could find at the hardware store. It fit perfectly.
  3. Another good option, if you're not in need of a US part, is the new style Bulgarian grip. I used one on my 5.56 mm Bulgarian Krink build, and it is quite comfortable, like the SAW style grip. K-var carries them.

I also removed mine when I put the clamp on front sight. I replaced it with a very small set screw, M4-sized if I'm recalling correctly. I got it in the metric set screw bin at the hardware store.
  5. For the same reason they require the tags on matresses. Congress went through the effort to specifically prohibit the removal, alteration or obliteration of serial numbers. If they wanted to prohibit the same things with regard to the other markings, they would have.
  6. Barrel extensions are things that attach at the breech end of the barrel, like this: on a Browning 1919 or the barrel extension (part 7 here) on an AR15 barrel:
  7. They are actually the same, as hardcorps1775 said, with the strap removed and the white powder cleaned off. I've got the one from K-var and it looks like the top picture when cleaned up.
  8. Those are the same pads.

    What is it??

There's a list of the choke sizes and the corresponding F() markings in the owner's manual.

There's some nice close-up pics of the front latch on a factory 12C here... http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.p...69&page=2&pp=40 I put a sidefolder on myself, and it wasn't an easy task. I had to make major modifications to the front latch for it to work. It would probably be much easier to do with the actual Saiga specific parts.
