  1. If someone was to permanently attach a mag, it would have to be 7 rounds max correct?
  2. Yeold I have read it many times. Your missing the point I am making, these firearms are not banned by name, but banned by feature. Yes the Saiga 12 has a detachable mag, that is why it is banned. The name doesn't matter there is no list. Someone in this thread said ,"if it's banded by name, it wouldn't matter what you do." I'm just pointing out that, as long the firearm passes the NO Feature test then it is good to go in NY. Going to be harder to do on some firearms then others.
  3. Since that list is not found in the law it means nothing, from what I can tell. If they wanted to ban firearms by name it would have to be in the law, not listed on some shitty powerpoint that one of Cuomos interns made. That site is full of mistakes. For example see the link below they list the Arsenal SGL 41 as NOT an Assault weapon. http://www.governor.ny.gov/assets/documents/Shotguns_thatareNOTclassifiedasassaultweapons.pdf Here's the stock photo from Kvar, its clearly a semi auto shotgun with a detachable magazine. So it should be illegal yet they say its NOT an AW.
  4. There is nothing in the law that bans Saigas or any other firearm by name. It's all about features that the firearm has. I to am dealing with the Bullshit King Cuomo has forced down our throats.
  5. SGM's were actually the first mags I did this too, Before I found the ones made for Legion. It is the same mods however slightly different and a bit more difficult. Yes it works. This should also work for Veprs, unfortunatly I don't own one. But considering the similarity between the S 12 and Vepr it should be easy.
  6. Just wanted to gauge interest before I spend a bunch of time doing a right up with pictures and instructions on how to achieve this. I have done this to 5 mags so far and they have all been 100% reliable. I just got a few more delivered and figured it would be a good time to take pictures and put it up on a site that has helped me with anything I needed to know about the S 12. Let me know if your interested and I will get it up within the next few days.
  7. So it's been awhile since I've posted but figured it was time for an update. After a lot of work, tweaks and about 900 rounds of low brass this gun now runs 99.9%. I say 99.9% just because the last two outings I had 1 FTE out of 450 rounds, so I cant honestly say its 100% but its damn close. I had to step the spring down to the lighter one that CSS sells, that made all the difference and now cycles all the cheap crap from the hip without a problem. I have also figured out a way to make standard lock and rock mags not only fit, but work the LRBHO. The mags I have got this to work on are
  8. Finished up the conversion tonight, once my mags and trigger group come in tomorrow I will be ready for a range test. Very happy with the final product. To finish it up I need a couple more plastic plugs to fill the sporter holes and pick up one of those grind to fit buttpads, For now it just has one of those 1" thick limb-savers on it.
  9. Had a little time to work on the S 12 tonight. Got the all the sporter crap off, re purposed the trigger guard and got the bottom of the receiver painted along with the trigger guard. Then remembered there is an added step of cutting a pistol grip nut hole. I've converted a few rifles and thats always done from the factory. Here's where I'm at.
  10. Thanks for the tip Corbin! I will look into it. Ive searched the site but cant seem to find it, can someone tell me the distance between the trigger hole and the pistol grip nut hole? Possibly have a picture so I can clarify the measurements and get a visual. Thanks
  11. Hey everyone just bought a Saiga 12 iz 433 and am in the process of making it reliable and converting it. Figured I'd document it here so I could get some tips and tricks from people who have done it before. I'm in NY so this is going to be a thumbhole stock conversion because its the best I can do without the possibility of going to prison. What has been done so far. Took it to the range Saturday morning, put 75 rounds of a mix of buckshot and slugs = 100% reliable every round chambered and ejected fine. Next tried some birdshot,(not walmart bulk crap, but a mix of Rem, Fed,
  12. Shandlanos thank you for actually reading what I had posted. I have read many of the threads on this site and others about the possible ATF ban and don't remember reading anything about this bill that why I brought it up. Yes the bill passed and it does good things for us! So if anything this bill should drive prices down and increase supply due to the fact that there is no more money going toward trying to ban these fine weapons. So no, your not going to see me posting overpriced S12's for sale. I figured I post it here, on a site where there a many knowledgeable people on the Sa
