  1. I really like this brake on my VZ2008. I think I may look for another.
  2. Mine is a 1985 Si, converted to a JDM ZC with genuine PJ1 ECU, JDM dash, interior bits, badges, hood, lights, etc, etc. With full interior, crappy tires, ran a 15.1 1/4 mile. Not super impressive, but still managed 38mpg to Canada and back with a loaded cargo compartment and A/C. Bought a Greddy turbo kit for it, since my buddy has one on his 87 DOHC CRX, but ended up selling that to pay medical bills. Car is probably going this spring. It got a temporary stay of execution this fall. Since this is a brake thread, it has larger 1st gen Integra brakes w/Brembo slotted rotors and Axxis Metal
  3. Love that look too... where did you get that setup, and what does the x39 weigh unloaded? Anyways, here's mine, CSS conversion, Magpul grip, Phoenix Warsaw stock with compartment, and some camo tape for comfy cheek in the cold. The front of the sling is held by a stainless braid keychain thing sheathed in paracord casing...going to find a better mount eventually. I like the factory foregrip...but I need to get a flashlight up there and a true left-hand sling mount... any suggestions are welcome, including modding the factory. I dont want it to look to tactical..it's a dedicated D/H/V
  4. I am just frustrated it took this long to get it done. Hopefully yours is faster.
  5. Done. took a while, and the S308 got sold, and a V308 took it's place. Still have a Saiga though.
  6. Replaced the rear sight on my Saiga with a 1000m Vepr sight I got from Krebs. MUCH better than the previous cheap Chinese 1000m rear sight and I like it better than the original Saiga 300m. It's also adjustable for windage.
  7. Well, I hear Bruce Jenner is becoming a woman so he compete in the women's portion of the next Olympics now.
  8. I kinda went against the grain, and instead of Khyber pass AK, or uber tactical, I made the stealth AK. Stealth because my we doesn't know I have 2 different rifles. And the wood gives them a non-liberal scaring affect here in MD. (Top 7.62x39 Saiga, bottom Vepr .308)
  9. Thanks. I like the more laid back look of the wood thumbhole stocks. They feel better to me.
  10. The siblings together. Ivan the Terrible (.308) and Ivan the Great (x39)
  11. I love the wooden stocked Veprs. I finally had my 7.62x39 converted to look just like my .308 Vepr. I know, why didn't I just buy a Vepr x39? Because I have had the Saiga for years and really like it.
  12. Had my 7.62x39 Saiga built to look just like my Vepr .308. Wife can't tell I have 2 different rifles now.......
  13. You may be able to find some steel core 7.62x25 Czech ammo on Gunbroker from time to time. It is supposed to be a tad hotter than typical surplus and it scoots. Wolf also makes a JHP x25 round. I have both for my Tok but haven't experimented for either yet. Not perfect, but cheaper for me than a 5.7.
  14. Just got a Mossberg .410 shotgun for the wife. I can't get over how cute these little .410g shells are next to my 12g ones. Simply adorable. But, it's hers.
  15. Thank you guys. Looking into all suggestions. It is the Autoart 1/18 model of my exact car. I have a 1985 Honda CRX Si. Well, will have had. Might be going thru a divorce here soon so the car may go. Honestly, I'd rather keep the car, LOL.
  16. I have a Saiga 7.62x39 with 16" barrel. The recoil isn't bad for me, a little snappy, but not bad. I am trying to get my wife and daughter into shooting, and figured the Saiga would be a little more reasonable than my Mosins or Vepr in .308. Looking to find out what is the most effective STYLE brake. I see slotted AR styles, AK74/Krink styles, Tapco top slotted styles, and others with holes all over. Looking for the least amount of recoil possible. Thanks for any suggestions.
  17. Good news. I got an email last night from Sportsmans Guide they had 150gr Superformance in stock. Ordered a couple boxes. We'll see how my rifle likes it.
  18. I had a 20rd double stack Finnish Lahti L-26 54r magazine I was going to try and fit, but ran out of time and patience. It is a 20rd, Finnish 7.62x54r double to single stack mag. It seemed like it "could possibly" be made to fit. I did not want to alter my receiver though. I think there were some at Numrich or Liberty Tree where I got mine.
  19. The main stash of sealed 7.62x51 I have is Maylasian. I haven't shot it yet, keeping it sealed for when the alien mother ship lands. The Barnes VorTX shot well, but I need to adjust my front sight and can't find my blasted sight tool. The Tula was, well, okay. Hit the gong 90% of the time. I still haven't found Hornady 150gr superformance to try. I want to get my sights dialed in better then try again. What I have to try; 1. Tula, lots of Tula. 2. Federal 7.62x51. 3. Silver Bear 145gr SP. 4. Random old 7.62 NATO. 5. API 7.62NATO. 6. Barnes Vortex 150gr .308. 7. Hornady 165gr TAP. 8. Wincheste
  20. I'll have to find some 125ish grains. The ones I have seen are typically .310-.312, not .308. However I shall flex my Google-Fu.
  21. Hornady Superformance 150gr was my absolute first thought, but ran into 2 obstacles. 1. Can't find it online anywhere. I actually ordered it from a couple places online that listed as iin stock, only to get a reply it was on back order. 2. I emailed Hornady directly, and they told me it was a SLOWER burning powder, and would not be best for a 16" barrel. It has a more even pressure curve, not a quick burn. So, I thought due to the increased velocity, it would be great, but I can't find it anywhere, so it's a moot point. I have some TAP in 168gr for my Remington 700, may try a couple
  22. Is there one that is designed for a shorter .308 barrel? Fast powder combustion, lower flash, maximum velocity out of a 16" barrel? I mainly shoot the cheap Russian stuff or 7.62 NATO stuff, which is fine normally, but I get some flash, and was wondering if anyone knew of a brand (I don't reload) that is designed for carbines. Thanks for any insight.
