  1. Epoxy done right, can be very durable but I don't think I could ever really trust it by itself. I'm definitely going to try your chalk idea though! I'm thinking something similar to this http://www.amazon.com/QuadBoss-Luggage-U-Bolt-Clamp-19-Z012/dp/B000WK4CKC/ref=sr_1_131?ie=UTF8&qid=1381166913&sr=8-131&keywords=u+bolt+clamp with a stud in the middle to use the factory holes in the rail.
  2. Thanks for the advice guys. I did try this Ultimak http://www.carolinashooterssupply.com/product_p/ultimak-vepr-rail-m3-b.htm even though it clearly says it fits .308, it's way out of alignment vertically, it's too short, and the mounting rings are way too small to get anywhere near making contact with the screws. Were you able to use a magnified scope with that mount, Spacehog? I had a short stock on it before the kush and i couldn't mount the scope far enough forward for it to not hit my glasses when I fired. I havent been to the range or fired it yet, but the only thing I dislike ab
  3. I recently installed the Kushnapup stock on my converted .308 but I'm having a hard time with optics. The gas tube rails don't fit, the side mount is out of the question for obvious reasons, and I'm running out of ideas. The mount needs to be forward of the rear sight leaf for eye relief. I'm no gunsmith but I stumbled along and did the conversion myself as well as modding the kushnapup linkage to work on the converted rifle, but im not sure I could make a sturdy enough optics mount with some cheap ebay rail and U bolts. Does anyone have any ideas before I set off on this project?
  4. Another option may be to switch the milling machine once a month and do a batch of whatever it's set up for that month, then switch it over again next month and do all your orders for that type. I've never touched a milling machine so idk what it takes and It would probably depend on your volume of work as well. Just throwing it out there.
  5. I've been searching high and low for ver 21, but the only ones I've found were either private sellers or "companies" that only take money orders. I like CC or paypal if I can't meet face-to-face, so I'm still on hunt as well. I may have to settle for a regular 21" and convert it, but I don't want to pay +$100 for an extra 5-6" of barrel.
  6. My advice: Don't even bring it here, the cops don't know the laws and you'll get different answers for what's legal from every single one.
  7. I just took mine for the first time also, and as I expected, it wouldn't cycle birdshot at all(yes it was on setting 2). I will definitely be having the bolt polished, but is polishing the bolt all you need for most guns? On a side note: whats up the BHO nub? It must have gotten hit as it fired and sunk up into the gun. Well after pulling out my hair trying to figure out the manual(definitely translated Russian --> English!)I pulled this tiny gray nub next to/above the trigger and the bolt finally snapped shut!
  8. Don't know about other states, but NJ is a permit-per-handgun state. This was pissed because they denied him his concealed carry, so he exercised his right to open carry. Good for him!
  9. Saw june 24, didn't think a post from a full year ago would still be front page.
  10. It says the page is down. Is this still happening?
