  1. For 9mm, everyone just goes to Walmart and gets WWB (although it's pretty pricey now!). What is the equivelant in the 12 guage world for buckshot and birdshot? Is there a favorite standard for plinking and defensive ammo?
  2. I'd be in for a 10 rd pack! When will we know if the deal will go live?
  3. Never mind, I did some googling and found this: http://www.shotplus.com/shop/help.php?section=FAQ
  4. When I clamp down my POSP 8X scope, it's still loose enough for the scope to slide back and forth (but not enough to come completely off). How do you fix this? There doesn't seem to be a way to adjust the tension.
  5. Took my 3 mags to the range and had some mixed results. Initial impressions: * Overall build of the body is good. Feels solid, seems like glass filled polymer (good). Some flow marks but that's just aesthetics. Some flash but not as much as the OEM mags which work great. * I had the side to side wobble everyone else is reporting. Disappears when the mag is loaded though (due to the pressure imparted by the rounds/compressed spring). * Floor plates, bottoms look schintzy. Edges are rough, hex nut, bolt, shiny appearance make it look like a garage project (which it kind of is I guess). Per
  6. Some people here suggested Birchwood Casey's Al Black, I tried it and the results are miserable. Very spotty and I even sanded off the oxide coating of the Al. I saw some pictures here that looked good but can't find them again. Any suggestions?
  7. I dunno. With it on, I didn't like the way the plastic buffer tilted so much. I drilled it out and put the plastic buffer in its place. Also, with them stacked, you're reducing the travel, which increases impulse, which defeats the purpose of the buffer. The purpose of the metal spacer is to keep the bolt carrier from flying all the way back and popping off the cover IIRC. Won't happen with the plastic buffer in its place.

    .308 Ammo

I've had great experience with SG. They usually ship my backordered stuff sooner than promised, don't charge for seperate shipping like Midway, and when I had to return something, they sent me a prepaid mailer. Speaking of which, I scored some really nice FN Belgian 308 from them a while back for cheap (~180 for 1200??). Shipping was cheap too, not like Cheaper than Dirt who gouges you.
  9. Which RSA trigger did you use? I don't see one specifically for the Saiga 308. The one made for the VEPR 308 is the one to use, from what I gather. Anyways, I polished down the hammer and ramped the top face just a bit and all is well. I think it was just new and rough.
  10. I used the G2 Single hook. When grinding the hammer to make room for the bolt stop lever, I only grinded the left side which prevents the hammer from centering too far to the left. Right now, it will come close to hitting the hook but won't.
  11. If that was referring to my post, I'm well aware of the need to grind the hammer's "hump" to clear the cross member and the side to make room for the bolt catch lever (which I already did), the question was regarding ramping the top of the hammer to make it easier for the bolt carrier to slide over on it's way back towards the barrel. AFAIK, that has never been discussed here or anywhere else I could find with google. I think people don't bother qualifying it as a problem with a conversion because 90% of the discussions here are regarding converted Saigas.
  12. Thanks, I skipped the RSA because it was too much I flattened the ''hump" so it will clear the cross member but the bolt carrier is snagging on the top face of the hammer. I'm not supposed to flatten this also am I?
  13. I just did my conversion and installed a G2 single hook FCG. The problem now is that when I pull back the bolt and release it, the hammer will push up against the bottom of my bolt carrier (the ramped part the rides against the rounds in the mag) to the point where it will stop the bolt. If I hold down the trigger so that the disconnector holds the hammer, it is lower and so the bolt will move forward with no problems though. Can someone tell me what is wrong with my setup? Thanks!
  14. Have you guys found you need to enlarge the hole in the buffer tech buffer? I haven't been able to slide it on my s308.
  15. Huh? The flat side IS the side with holes in it. Below, you say you never took off the metal buffer so how could you have tested it as you say above?
  16. What shoud I look for when buying for a S308? Are there ones that are calibrated for the 7.61x54R or does it not really matter? Do you just get the ones made for AKs? I'm guessing the ones made for RPKs don't fit the Saigas do they? Thanks!
  17. The Gun Source has em for $310 or thereabouts!
  18. Lots of people have mentioned Eastwave but KalinkaOptics.com seems to have more selection for the same prices (and an actual shopping cart). Is one better than the other?
  19. Can we move this thread to the "important" section? Pretty significant IMO.
  20. CDNNsports.com has them for 119. great to deal with, almost always the lowest prices. Not a spam, just a newbie:) Hey folks Edit: CDNN's is for the 6x24, Eastwave seems to be a better deal
