  1. So my 11 year old is getting interested in making stuff/tinkering. When I was his age I got a .22 and I was thinking it's about time for him to have one.  I would love to build a .22 with him.  Something on par with assembling an AR, but for his first gun I'd like something with a little more wood/traditional style.  My first .22 was a marlin lever action which I still have and enjoy.

Any suggestions?  Right now, the best I can come up with is accessorizig a 10/22, but I'd really like to assemble something form the ground up, and I can't find a 10/22 receiver that doesn't cost a ton of money.

    Thanks.

  2. I've been to Hiroshima, spoken with a survivor, read accounts of people who were there.  Skin melting off their bodies.  School children burning to death.  It was evil.

However, the Japanese put us in that position, and it was the better course of action than invasion and dragging the war out.

As a single act, using nuclear weapons was evil. In the context of WWII, it was also necessary.

  3. Maybe done by the same people who did If I Wanted America to Fail...

Ad starts with a middle aged white man looking at the camera.  "I'm $57,000 in debt."

Then a 40 something black woman.  "I'm $57,000 in debt."

Then a 30 something Hispanic man.   "I'm $57,000 in debt."

Then a 20 something Asian woman.   "I'm $57,000 in debt."

Then a teenage boy.   "I'm $57,000 in debt."

Then a 5 year old girl.   "I'm $57,000 in debt."

Finally a young couple with a newborn baby.  "Our son was born $57,000 in debt."

    Black screen with the words:

"The US National Debt is $18.4 Trillion Dollars.  That's over $57,000 for every man, woman, and child in America."

Shit, I wish I was $57,000 in debt.  With the house loan and student loans it's more like $300,000.  At least the credit cards and cars are paid off.

  4. Stripped her down and sent her off yesterday.  FINALLY!

Cutting the front sight at welding to the BG, chopping to 14.5 and welding the brake.

Already can't wait to get it back.

Just a heads up, if you're sending it to the same place you mentioned in an earlier thread, that's where I had mine done and I was quoted about 4 weeks but it took closer to 8.  However quality was great and I was charged less than originally quoted so I'm not complaining, just wanted let you know my experience.

  5. I love a feel good story.

    WARREN, Mich. -

A man who was robbing a Citizens Bank near 9 Mile and Van Dyke roads on Monday was shot by a customer at the bank.

Police found two guns at the scene. The bank is at the corner of Van Dyke Road and Timken Avenue, which is a few blocks north of 9 Mile Road.

The robber initially fled the bank on foot but was found lying on the ground bleeding. He was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

No other injuries have been reported.

Local 4 has learned the robber walked into the bank and announced a hold-up. He received money from a teller and then pointed the gun at the customer, who shot him. He shot him in both arms and the leg.

"I live right behind the bank and I just heard all this commotion, and I saw a cop car come flying down, like flying down, my street and slam on his brakes. And I thought maybe there was an accident," said Bromly Daves. "So I came out and I could see (the person who was shot) from my front porch laying on the ground, screaming. He was laying on his back, holding his leg and screaming his head off."

The bank robber is described as a 43-year-old man. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The customer is cooperating with police. He has a concealed pistol license, police said
