  1. Those rock. Hard to spend $1300 just for a left-hand safety selector though.
  2. Yep, I've heard this about right-handed users regarding the V12 safety. But for a lefty, it looks like it's at the right height and would be a blessing to find one.
  3. Bump in case anyone can help here. 1. Where can I get a Vepr-12 ambi safety lever? Looks like it'll work for a lefty like me, where Krebs lever serve little value because I can't reach the tabs with my left thumb. Thanks everyone!!
  4. Before the Sig 556R, he was all about AKs and sorta laughed at people paying $1000s for other platforms. Not the Sig 556R is out, he's doing the same toward AKs. Seen some posts where he ridicules people paying for an AK then fixing it up. I won't consider a Sig until it's been battle-tested & comes in 5.45. Plus, there are hardly any mods available out there for it.
  5. Ever since I saw the new Vepr-12, the shotgun made me drool. But what I loved more than anything else on it, was the safety lever. Being a lefty, it's awesome to see one on an AK platform by default. Having said that, anyone know where I can score 1 or 2? Question is, will it also fit a Saiga-12? How about a AK-74? Krebs makes great safety levers, but it's focused on right-handed shooters. Would love to see if this Vepr-12 safety lever works on other AK platforms, much less find it somewhere to order. Thanks.
  6. Would the Vepr-12 safety lever work on a Saiga-12? I'm a lefty and would love to order one somewhere, but have come up short. If it works, I'd like to test it out on my AK74 also. A few weeks ago I spend almost a whole weekend looking for that Vepr safety lever. Nada. Arrrr..
  7. Dang, I've been searching for AGP Gen-2 8rd tan mags for months now, and nothing other than directly from AGP. With a waiting list of course. Already have several but need a few more. Anyone know where I can find them for less than $40/each? Thx
  8. Any recos for a red-dot in the sub-$200 range? Being that I'm going to use my Saiga-12 for up to 30-m mostly, if that far at all. If more, I'll transition to my AK 74. I've got MP5 sights on it now which are pretty sweet, but if I had to make a more precision shot & go with slugs, I would like a red dot. Looking to get it over the rail. Thanks.
  9. MRE's aren't bad. Been eating them since they did away with C-Rats. The first generation MRE sucked! Now the latest generation is more like store bought food. MRE's have kept me alive for many weeks in the field. Some entrees are better than others but if you open all of them at one time and mix and match you can come up with nearly gourmet food. C-rations! LOL I was stuck with the 1st gen MREs when I served in the Army. Stale but edible. 2nd gen was much better. Only thing is that they were very high calorie, particularly for the soldier on the move to help sustain him after patroll
  10. Found one! Picked it up from FFL yesterday. Looks like AGS Armament trickles in 1 or 2 every other week so I snagged one. Will see if I can pick up another one next month. For those who don't know, they're great AKs on par with Arsenal without having to pay the premium nor wait time. Check out some vids on YouTube.
  11. Thanks, MM. Took my XDM to a smith for modifications & I had to present my FOID card. That's insane?! Wasn't a problem but it looks like without one, you really can't do jack. Anyone else in the Springfield, IL area? Would be great to meet some folks & grow our network.
  12. I think you may be right. Called an out-of-state gun dealer who just sold their last two 15 mins before I called. I was pissed, lol. They said they might have some in next month but they're not sure depending on the distributor.
  13. Not sure if you've tasted it but it's not too great. Reminded me of cardboard. It's always a good idea to try out samples before ordering bulk. Mountain House tastes pretty good in comparison, along with dehydrated food (uncooked) you can prepare yourself. I actually eat dehydrated food a lot to get myself used to it and it's pretty good. Eggs, milk, carrots, green vegetables tend to be my staple foods.
  14. Moved to Central IL right after Wisconsin was allowed CCW/Open Carry. That sucked. Not sure where we'll go in the next few months with the CCW.
