  1. the movement you are describing sounds normal to me. Couple of Qs to help everyone better answer you: Stock gas plug or aftermarket? Stock puck? What ammo are you getting FTEs with? What Gas Setting are you on? How many ports does your gun have? Are you planting the stock firmly in your shoulder? How many rounds have you put through it? Hand cycled it?
  2. So i've been putting a lot of range time on my S-12 and no major problems until recently. I've been getting better at rapid fire and I noticed I'm starting to get occasional Falures to Feed. The rounds sometimes gets stuck on the upper barrel hood on the edge. This happens with all brands of 2 3/4 birdshot shells and all my magazines ( 1 factory 5 round, 2 12 rounds SGMs, 2 10 round SGMs) Should I think about extending the barrel feed hood? or could this be an issues with the magazines keeping up with the high rate of fire? Everything is fine when I slow down on the trigger. Tha
  3. The downsides of SBRs - one thing comes to mind with ARs. Keep your SBR registered lower together with your shorty upper. Don't keep extra shorty uppers around non SBR registered lowers... that's asking for trouble because it's considered intent to create an unlawful firearm... Also you can get your SBR delisted but you need to convert it back to a 16 barrel before you put in your petition to take it off the list otherwise it's a no no... as far as krinks... I think the cost of just a parts kit is kinda crazy how much they went up in price over the years. But I'm thinking about taking
  4. The only solvents I use on my nail polish guns are occasional bore cleaner. I usally wipe the guns exteriors down with rem oil since it seems to act as gentle cleaner and it drys fairly quick. My Glock, Colt 6920 and my saiga-12 have held up nicely using the nail polish method. The Saiga was a little tricky to do though.
  5. you can pull a rod through just drop the end down the chamber and keep pulling the brush out the muzzle. That's what i do on my guns. I learned that works great on ARs. It also works well with the Saiga shotguns but is a little tricky with the AK rifles.
  6. I'd be more worried about using multiple peice rods than the material they are made from. Pull the rod out of a gun vs pushing it and the rod won't flex and no worries.
  7. I took my S-12 to the range this evening and decided to shoot 100 rounds through it. No major problems... ran 50 rounds of Win AA no FTEs and ran 50 rounds of the wally world Win Universal through it with only a few FTEs. I notcied the action on my gun is getting much smoother that I have ran a bunch of rounds through it now. So tonight I took the gun apart for a good cleaning and noticed that the back of the bolt carrier is missing the black finish now and the top cover is a little loose.. No major peening on the bolt carrier yet though..I have a MD arms adjustment plug on it on the s
  8. Where are you located? Middle TN I use these guys here in NH sig gun shop. Honest guys, quick turn around and they test function of the firearm
  9. I used white nail polish and it came out awesome... just don't use too much because when you wipe it down with acetone free nail polish it may start removing your finish.
  10. sounds normal. I found my gun stovepiping ocassionally with the cheap Win white box stuff but I noticed a big improvement on FTEs when I really planted the stock into my shoulder...
  11. On the package it says rifled barrels only.... is this a safety issue in a saiga-12 or more of an accuracy thing? These sound like nasty slugs....
  12. Just finished up a new hard case for my S-12 and WASR-10
  13. If you watch the the videos posted online you'll be very confident if you have the right tools to do it. CSS sold me everything I need to convert it over right for about 170 shipped and their videos were great.
