  1. I've noticed that too. Makes it a real pain in the ass to clear. That's got to be the only complaint I've got about mine.
  2. I cannot believe you are even entertaining the thought of modifying your legally purchased rifle to meet the demands of this bullshit, unconstitutional law. Like I said earlier, you need to get off your ass and use every single legal tool at your disposal to make it clear that it is unacceptable to trample your rights. Once you've done that, do it again. Mark my words. Your elected officials won't stop here. BTW a "sporter" saiga is still an AK.
  3. So if you gave away your Saiga collection to a gun buyback there would be no paper trail or record of it? No way to prove or disprove your assertion? Kind of like a boating accident?
  4. Yep. Right in St. Paul. I figured I'd run into another elevator guy here eventually
  5. One cannot "buy back" something that one did not previously own.
  6. Your Saiga's configuration isn't the problem. Your corrupt politicians and their unconstitutional laws are. I suggest you, and other law abiding citizens like you, seek to restore your laws to their proper state by whatever legal means necessary. Stop voting these people into office!
  7. I have a Strikefire on my S762. It has held up well so far. Mine came with a screw in 2x magnifier. If I remember correctly, it also has a lifetime warranty.
  8. I'll be staying away from any of the calibers that I don't reload for the near future. Won't be letting any of my friends burn through my stuff for now. Like Stryker suggested, letting someone else put a few random snap caps in is good practice.
  9. Damn! That's a spendy parts rifle... How did the seller miss that mess?
  10. Looks like I just found a few more actors who's movies/shows I'll not be seeing. Someone needs to get all of their names on a list so we all know who we're dealing with.
  11. Duracoat comes in many different colors including FDE. It will stick to almost anything including plastic. You can apply it with an airbrush or one of their sprayer kits. Unlike cerakote it doesn't have to be baked.
  12. Bummer. That severely limits your marker choices as most current ones will only run on HPA. Do yourself a favor and don't cheap out on your mask. Spending a little more generally gets you a more comfortable one with a greater field of view.
  13. I use planet eclipse markers. My current one is a GEO, but if you want to spend a little les look at a used etek. They are basically older models of the top model EGO's. The parts don't change much and they run like a top. Stay away from CO2. It's outdated and any paintball field nowdays has changed to HPA (high pressure air). If you get a decent marker (p.c. term for paintball gun) buy a good loader. Anything with anti chop eyes will run like crap if it isn't fed properly. Look for a Dye Rotor.
  14. You should always use impact sockets with an impact. It's not just that chromed sockets round off heads, but the strength of the socket that is the issue. Standard sockets can shatter when they break as opposed to simply cracking like the proper tool. You should always wear eye protection when using these things.
  15. I should add that while I really like my cordless impact, a high end air impact backed by a good compressor is the superior tool. That is if you've got unlimited money. (Unfortunately, my money is quite limited)
  16. I'm a big fan of Milwakee tools. I beat them pretty badly and they stand up to the punishment very vell. I have one of the M18 1/2" models and it works well. Plenty of torque, good run time and relatively light for an electric impact.

    Buttstock

I'm looking for a buttstock for my S-12. I'd like to find something similar to a traditional 47 or 74 style, but with more surface area at the rear of the stock, as to help spread the force of the recoil a little bit. Does anyone know if something like this exists?
  18. I have one of the 47/74 universal ones on my S308. I had to widen the inside of the mounting brackets, as the 308 has a much thicker barrel than an AK47. It was tedious work but ended up fitting pretty well. I'd imagine that handguard uses the same brackets. Let us all know how it fits if you do decide to go for that one. I'm thinking of using one myself.
  19. Any Saiga can accept a drum as it is shipped from the factory, without modification. The seller did nothing except buy a drum mag, place the front of the mag in the well, and rock it back into the latch. He's trying to find someone who is unfamiliar with the Saiga and rip them off IMO. It would be inadvisable to put that drum in an S12 that doesn't meet 922. You risk running afoul of the law.
