  1. Try. My point exactly... Think I'll just keep mine though. There'd be no ammo left with yours at that point. Wouldn't want to burn myself with the barrel.
  2. An H&K Mark 23 is on my list. Maybe a USP compact .45 as well. I should also add a 1911 to that list. So many wants, so little extra cash...
  3. I got the opportunity to shoot one of those when there was a TBAC rep at my range. (Equipped with their suppressor of course) Awesome rifle. I'm far too cheap to purchase one myself though.
  4. This should be a good lesson for some people. A Saiga is not an AK as far as hand guards are concerned. You can add the correct AK parts to make AK handguard work. The only ones that will work with no additional parts or modifications are Saiga handguards. The Midwest Industries ones will work as they clamp to the barrel. If you want Magpul, the zhukov will work since it clamps on. (I can verify this as I just installed one on my 7.62 last night.) You will still need an AK gas tube to install the upper guard to. While it is a bummer that you bought parts that won't just bolt on, it was in
  5. Almost 4 years since last post. That's got to be in the running for longest necrothread.
  6. Yep. I really should just copy the pages for calibers I have and put my reloading manuals somewhere I can't read about other calibers. Turn page. "Ooh, that looks like a fun one to load for..."
  7. One of the other forums I frequent is for an ar15 cartridge. Lots of guys on that forum are building 10's this year. There are a few new options out there that allow you to build a much lighter AR 10 than in the past and that has removed some of the advantage of the 15 over the 10. Not to mention, everything's cyclical including popularity of firearms. Like you, lots of people have built multiple ar15 and are probably looking to build something different.
  8. 6.8 for hunting. It has a better selection of actual useful hunting bullets. Those other two will work just fine for paper.
  9. Gunfun, do you reload? I'm just curious why you want a 300 BO. "I just do" is perfectly acceptable by the way. I've thought of adding one for my soon to be SBR and suppressor for grins. Are you planning on running supersonic, subs, both? Do you have a suppressor? You may want to take a look at the 277 Wolverine. It uses standard 5.56 mags and bolt. It works well subsonic but performs better supersonic than the 300. A NiB bolt carrier isn't necessary but is a lot easier to clean. If you're planning on running subs you may want to go that route as subs tend to dirty things up quick. Don't wo
  10. Yep. The race is on now. Just sent in forms to SBR two lowers, two suppressors are on the way to my dealer. All in the course of a week. Just made $800 off me. All to beat the cut off date. Pretty sure many others are doing the exact same thing as I type this. I'm done buying gun stuff for the year already. (Maybe even burned next year's funds too)
  11. I have a TB Ultra 7 in 6.5 on order, got in on a group buy with RBros Rifles. Should have it in hand by summer. Doug I was dead set on the saker (which I decided later to also buy) until I just happened to run in to a TBAC rep demoing their suppressors at my gun club. Got to shoot an ultra 7 (and a bunch of others in their lineup including the 338 model on a Barrett MRAD. Very cool.) The Ultra 7 is noticeably lighter than the saker, with better suppression rating. Hope to have both of them before deer opener in November. Have you gotten a chance to try yours out while it's in jail?
  12. There are a few problems with any of the poison, glass, antifreeze methods. It's not target specific. Any animal can and will eat them. Including pets. That's negligence on a whole different level. You would also more than likely end up with animal cruelty charges. Lastly, it's plain cruel. Ever seen an animal die after ingesting antifreeze? I have. It's fucking terrible to watch. A slow, painful death. Just put a bullet in it and give it a clean, quick death. Let me be clear, I'm not some tree hugging animal rights activist. I hunt, would love to hunt some hogs. Those things are destructiv
  13. Proprietary mags though. Not going to lie, that's probably going to keep me away from it. I already have enough stuff that i need to buy mags for. Looks interesting though.
  14. That's why there are so many different brands and models... If one fit everyone and their needs perfectly, that'd just be damned boring.
  15. Yep. I tried to like Glock. I really did. I can't shoot them worth a damn. Not saying they aren't a decent handgun. Just not for me. And don't give me that bull about I need to be taught to shoot it. My USPs shoot the center out of the target without me having to think about proper form. It also eats absolutely everything i feed it without complaint. The H&K USP is more expensive for a reason.
  16. In my opinion, what ever works best for you is the right way. I do have one concern. Is that a free float handguard? You may notice that you are able to tweak the handguard and affect the POI to point of aim. Also, not to derail the thread, what lower is that?
  17. I love the comment that says its the same thing as a catamount fury except with a different buttstock.
  18. Not trying to be an asshole, but justifying spending money for any reason at that store just isn't going to sit well with many members. They made it pretty clear that they aren't really pro 2A. Only when it suits them for profit. Their knee-jerk reaction after Sandy hook was a real pussy move. I personally won't spend my cash there for any reason. Ever.
  19. Exactly my point. Might as well watch it at home. Cheaper that way as well. Not to mention, I can pause the movie when I want.
  20. Am I the only one that is looking forward to about a week from now, when the media blitz for this movie dies down? It hasn't even been released yet and I can't stand it. (I will probably rent it once it's on dvd. Just can't really get immersed in a movie in a theater any more.) You can't watch TV or listen to the radio without seeing/hearing a commercial for it.
  21. It could be that the feed lips on the drum are leaving the front of the shell too low to allow proper feeding. If they are made of metal you may be able to tweak them to allow the shell to sit at the correct angle. Do NOT attempt to modify the gun to suit the magazine. Ever. You will not be able to un do whatever you end up "Bubba'ing" up. You can, however, replace a screwed up magazine.
