  1. All shotguns in UK have a 24" minimum barrel length
  2. Sergii, was almost correct. It appears that the ejecting shell would foul with the rather large thumb screws used to secure the red dot to the rail. Change these thumb screws for locking nuts, and problem solved. Thanks everyone for there input.
  3. Thought you might like to see the guns.
  4. Lots of talk about how good the VEPR is, but has anyone shot one ? A friend of mine and his son, both have a Saiga 12 and VEPR, and have to say the VEPR are a real heavy gun, with much more recoil than the Saiga. Better made, maybe, but one of the VEPR's they own is back in Germany where it was supplied, because of FTE. I will stick with my S12.
  5. Thanks for all the replies, I'm going out agin next week with the S12 and will see if I can work out whats going on..
  6. I have spent the last few weeks getting my Saiga to run on 28gm low brass shells, it running great now. Today I was out with a few friends, practicing for a competiton in a couple of weeks. Part of the comp is target slug, so decided to sight in my red dot. The red dot is fitted on a mount, and to the side rail of the gun. The gun ran fine with slug, but when I started shooting the light load birdshoot, the gun refused to cycle, and fail to eject. Remove the rail, and red dot, and all back to running fine. Why would the fitting of the rail and dot cause this.

  8. Standard factory mags are used with the factory BHO, also BHO dos not work with maxround drum mags, not sure about other makes.
  9. Here in the UK, a mid range Saiga is costing £1199, at todays exchange rate, that works out at $1948. Stop complaining, and get one bought.
  10. Thanks Pauly. Yes we know Oleg, he only lives 15 miles away from me. My friend with the problem is going to see him Thursday, so hopefully it will get sorted soon.
  11. Thanks guys for all the quick replies. Well at least its a common problem, I will let him know its an easy fix. Only problem is living in the UK, getting parts sent from the US is a no no, so it will have to be a Russian replacement part.
  12. My friends Saiga 12 has a problem, the gas piston end has snapped off. Replacement looks easy enough, but sourcing the part may be tricky. Is this a common problem ? And what would have caused the failure ? Any advice appreciated.
  13. I must be a very lucky man, I got three with my gun, and bought another one seperatley. They will keep me going for a while.
  14. A few pictures of my Saiga. Minimum barrel length allowed in the UK is 24". Fitted with UTG pistol grip, Magpul forend grip, and BP-02 weaver rail mount (waiting for PK-A red dot to be delivered) Almost forgot GP-30 underbarrel grenade launcher recoil pad.

Thanks for the replies. Yes we are allowed Saiga 12's in the UK, they are classed as firearms not shotguns. Shotgun certification is quite straight forward to get, as long as you are of good standing. To obtain firearms require's a section 1 certification, which you must have good reason to posess such items. Practical competition, and target shooting are good reason, HD is not. We have no stipulation on magazine size, but there is a minimum 24" barrel requirment. My other section 1 shotgun is a 11 shot Winchester SX3. There are a few Saiga 12's in the UK, and even fewer dealers.
