If you wanted to regear axles they are running (guessing that's a big money deal since they are probably some type of unique portal axle), you could increase the highway speed. I guess if you put some REALLY tall tires on it you could get enough of a change in roll out to make some difference. Those are 2.5 ton Rockwell axles. When you cut the rear axle off and make a shorter bed on them, it's called "bobbing" a deuce. Check out 100dollarman DOT com for pics.

How do you make a living?
BB1980 replied to Long Shot's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
Worked a a marina for one summer gassing up boats that would pull up to the dock. Burger King for 2 1/2 yrs. Movie theater as a projectionist for 7 years. Advance Auto Parts as an assistant manager for 2 1/2 years. Currently on 5th year as a non-liscensed nuclear equipment operator. I work at a 3 reactor power plant that generates 2,700 megawatts. Pretty neat stuff. Each reactor has four, 9,000 horsepower reactor coolant pumps that run on 6,900 volt ac power. Reactor coolant is 600 deg F water pressurized to 2155 psi on the hot side and 555 deg F on the cold side. -
I am glad you finally made that portion of the how to video. Looks similar to how I did mine for the SKS. I was hoping you would show how/how much you sanded on the tube portion of the stock for the stock to slide smoothly.

I ordered some 5.56 penetrator reloads from a company called black gun industries. They say it's a 4 week backlog, but for $500 shipped for 1,000 rounds, I gave it a shot. Hopefully I didn't get scammed.... -

Using the tapco tube. I sanded and lubed it. And I cut a bit off the end with a hack saw! You must've sanded the fool out of it. You can't see the indentions all around the tube anymore. Unless you filled them all in with something, those indentions are 1/8" deep all around the tube, so you would decrease the diameter of the tube by 1/4" if you sanded down past those all of the way around. Spill the beans, yo! -
Saw it last night. It was pretty good IMHO. Matthew Fox put 110% into playing that crazy mofo. Tyler Perry was pretty good too, for someone who plays Madea all the time. If you pay attention, there's a very dark scene where Fox uses a PSL. Scope looked like a standard PSL scope, but when they show the view from the scope, the reticle was all wrong. I give it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

For the record, that is mattv2099 in the video. Same clothing as his other bumpinator videos. Still looks like a good use for stock saiga buttstocks.

It looks as though you had to do what I was thinking. It looks like you replaced the polymer "buffer tube" with a metal one from an AR. I am getting too much friction on the tapco polymer tube, and noticed its the same dimensions as an ar one, but I wasn't sure about length. Looks good! -
Are you planning on making any higher capacity ones for the 7.62x54r? Like a 20rd?

AK-47 Bumpinator Bump Fire Stock. Home Made - DIY
BB1980 replied to mattv2099's topic in Other AK Rifles
He needs a way to keep the locking pin in the buttstock just high enough out of the position holes but not enough to come out of the buffer tube guide slot. It looks like he completely removed the locking lever and pin from the stock. -

BB1980 replied to mattv2099's topic in Other AK Rifles
If you trimmed the locking lever at the top, you could twist it 90*. I thing I am going to make a latch that pops between the locking lever and stock automatically via a spring when you push the locking lever. Then, a small tab on that latch would allow you to push it forward from between the stock and lever, allowing the stock to lock again. Mine uses the second from the back hole in the fixed position. I have a screw in the back hole that allows the locking pin to slide over that hole without locking in. I also have a screw that sticks up in between the second from the rear and thi -

Stock is 97.9% finished. I couldn't get it to bump fire, however. I think the slide on the stock has too much resistance at the moment. I am going to work on sanding down high spots. It is quite a bit stiffer than my ar15's stock on the metal buffer tube. My sks feels like its a bit heavier overall as well, which doesn't help. Anyway, here is a video, showing the basic operation of the stock. I haven't figured out the particulars on how to keep the stock locked in the free to move position. Right now, I have a small piece of metal I wedge under the adjustment lever that keeps it from l -
